  • The Things We Leave Unfinished, By Rebecca Yarros
    2026/06/01

If you ignore the romance, it was actually a really enjoyable book, unfortunately, this book is a romance, so there’s that…

And while typically we’re suckers for a dual timeline, in this case it lead to us wanting to be abandoned in the midst of a world war instead of reading the romance between Georgia and Noah.

All of that to say, we are nervous for the future of The Empyrean Series.

In other news, pick up your copy of The Midnight Train, by Matt Haig, which will air on Monday, June 15th, and to head over to our instagram where voting is now open for our following read which will air on Monday, June 29th!

    2026/05/18

Listen along as Kaitlyn and Kendra discuss the highly anticipated book two of the Shield of Sparrows trilogy!

While the romance may have taken a back seat, the plot sure kept us going! Not to mention, we’re still trying to understand how Devney Perry managed to not only include so many plot twists, but reveal them in a way that we didn’t see them coming!

Did you predict any of the surprises?

Also don’t forget to pick up your copy of The Things We Leave Unfinished, By Rebecca Yarros, which will be our next read that will air on Monday, June 1st AND The Midnight Train, By Matt Haig, which will air on Monday, June 15th!

  • I Who Have Never Known Man, By Jacqueline Harpman
    2026/05/04

Though Kaitlyn and Kendra were both intrigued while reading the book, upon finishing it, we found ourselves left with not only the burden of drawing our own conclusions regarding the plot, but the responsibility to tie meaning and purpose to the story as well.

But according to Goodreads, we are definitely in the minority! What did you think?

Also don’t forget to pick up your copy of Rites of the Starling, book two of the Shield of Sparrows series, by Devney Perry! We are so excited for this one which will air on Monday, May 18th!

  • Piranesi, By Susanna Clarke
    2026/04/20

Not a Greek mythology, but arguably an AP Lang persuasive essay topic contender. What one of us read as fantasy, the other interpreted as more of a speculative mystery!

But however you land on the argument of reality, no one can disagree, Clarke’s work is a masterpiece!

Also don’t forget to keep reading I Who Have Never Known Men, By Jaqueline Hartman, which will air on Monday, May 4th, and to pick up Rites of the Starling, By Devney Perry, the sequel to Shield of Sparrows, which will air on Monday, May 18th!

  • Anatomy of an Alibi, By Ashley Elston

There were several aspects of this thriller that had potential, the concept, the switching perspectives, the compelling backstory, and even a few fun gotcha moments. But in the end, there was one major faux pas that overshadows the rest of this book.

Can you guess what it is?

In other news, Kaitlyn and Kendra have selected Piranesi, By Susanna Clarke, as the next read. So don’t forget to pick up your copy as this episode will air on Monday, April 20th.
