On this episode host Scott and special guest Andrew Gaudion look at the more successful of Peckinpah & Steve Mcqueen's two 1972 collaborations, "The Getaway".Over the course of the episode we talk about how this film proved a return for what audiences wanted from both McQueen & Peckinpah, the major scandal caused by McQueen & Ali McGraws affair and the films ace action set-pieces. Also, we get into how trying to make Peckinpah's worst instincts more palatable can make them come off worse, the power Mcqueen had as producer on the film and just how different it would have been directed by Peter Bogdanovich (as was originally intended).

On this episode Host Scott and special guest Darryl Edge (Cage/Rage: A Nicolas Cage Podcast and Getting Dafoe You: A Willem Dafoe Podcast) look at a more unusual Peckinpah film as he delves into comedy (Granted it is still a Western) with The Ballad of Cable Hogue. Over the course the episode we talk about how this film is both not very Peckinpah (with its humour, romance and gentle spirit. Hell, it even has musical number) and is very Peckinpah (it has number of the regular Peckinpah players, a deep cynicism about authority figures and is once again about the death of the west). Plus, Scott introduces Darryl to the fact Peckinpah is a real person (you will have to listen in for more context on that).

On this episode we have Peckinpah fan and one of the most knowledgeable film nerds I know Pearce Duncan (formerly Dracula Sucks podcast) to talk about Peckinpah's sophomore feature "Ride the High Country."

Over the course of the episode we talk about how this represent's a quantum leap in Peckinpah's filmmaking, how it establishes a number of classic Peckinpah tropes as well some of his recurring cast and we also get into how this is more hopeful than your usual Peckinpah fare. Plus, we talk about how it is a film so good that one of the leads (Randolph Scott) retired after its release as he thought it was such a perfect capstone to his storied career.
