Welcome to the ninth episode of Bloody Sam: A Peckinpah Fan Podcast! Over the course of the next 14 episodes I will be looking at all the feature films of the legendary director Sam Peckinpah. Each episode will also feature a special guest which will range from Peckinpah newbies right through to die hard fanatics.
On this episode host Scott and special guest Craig Cohen try to puzzle through the many cuts of "Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid." Over the course of the episode we talk about both its complicated production and even more complicated post-production. Plus, we get into how this could be Peckinpah's ultimate statement on the death of the west (this being his last western), it's iconic soundtrack and the films massive critical reassessment which started back in the 1980s.
