He dies in a good old age at one hundred and seventy-five years, and Isaac and Ishmael bury him in the cave of Machpelah. Rebecca, who was barren, conceives twins, and the Lord says to her: "Two nations are in thy womb, and the elder shall serve the younger." Esau is born red and hairy, and Jacob holding his heel. Later Esau sells his birthright for a dish of lentils.
