  • 400 Years of Silence Part 2: Why the Apocrypha was Excluded - Episode 282
    2026/05/11

Was God truly silent between Malachi and John the Baptist? And if so, why were books written during that period excluded from Scripture?

In Part 2 of this series, Scott Mitchell examines the growing claims surrounding the Apocrypha and Second Temple literature and asks an important question: did God intentionally preserve His Word exactly as He intended?

This episode explores the missing Ark of the Covenant, the corruption surrounding the Second Temple, and why Jesus consistently pointed back to “the Law and the Prophets” as the recognized authority of Scripture. Scott also examines the significance of the torn veil at Christ’s crucifixion, the prophetic role of John the Baptist, and the connection between Moses, Elijah, and the two witnesses of Revelation 11.

Throughout this study, Scripture itself becomes the standard for testing claims of hidden revelation, missing books, and modern prophetic movements.

    In This Episode:
    • Why the Ark of the Covenant never returned to the Second Temple
    • The deeper meaning behind Jesus cleansing the Temple
    • What the torn veil revealed at Christ’s crucifixion
    • Why Jesus referenced “the Law, the Prophets, and the Psalms”
    • Whether the Apocrypha should be considered inspired Scripture
    • The prophetic role of John the Baptist
    • Moses and Elijah as possibly the two witnesses in Revelation 11
    • Why discernment matters in the last days
    • The danger of questioning God’s ability to preserve His Word
    Key Scriptures:
    • Malachi 3:1
    • Malachi 4:1–6
    • Isaiah 40:3–5
    • Matthew 21:12–13
    • Matthew 27:50–53
    • Matthew 11:7–15

  • Three Brides of Christ: Israel, the Church, and New Jerusalem
    2026/05/10

In this message, Scott Mitchell examines one of the most fascinating prophetic themes in Scripture — the bride of Christ. The Bible presents three distinct pictures connected to the bride: believing Israel, the Church, and New Jerusalem. Far from contradicting one another, these types reveal God’s unfolding plan of redemption from prophecy to eternity.

This study walks through the Old Testament picture of Israel as an unfaithful wife, the mystery of the Church as the one new man in Christ, and the final revelation of New Jerusalem as the Lamb’s wife in Revelation 21. Along the way, Scott explains how these prophetic pictures fit together without replacing Israel or confusing God’s distinct programs revealed in Scripture.

From Hosea and Isaiah to Ephesians and Revelation, this lesson traces the thread of the Bridegroom through the entire Bible and points to the coming marriage supper of the Lamb.

    Scripture References
    • Isaiah 62:1–5
