  • 3. Burning Biodiversity: Is Biodiversity Loss Making Natural Disasters Worse?
    2025/06/25
This podcast raises awareness on biodiversity loss and its consequences, including its role
in worsening natural disasters. It also explores what we, as humans, can do—by rethinking
our relationship with nature and shifting from Living FROM Nature to Living WITH
Nature—toward a more sustainable and resilient future.
Living from nature for centuries has led to increased biodiversity loss, which has in turn
made natural disasters such as wildfires have more severe consequences on humanity. On
the other hand, indigenous communities have used controlled wildfires as conservation
practices that led to increasing biodiversity. In this episode, we will tackle how different value
systems can influence environmental practices and aid in battling the consequences of
    wildfires and even prevent them.

  • 1. Biodiversity Flooded
    2025/06/25
In the debut episode of Biodiversity: Behind the Buzzword, we dive into the complex issue of
invasive species and their impact on biodiversity loss. Using the blue crab invasion in the
Venice Lagoon as a case study, we examine how a single species can disrupt an entire
ecosystem. Along the way, we invite listeners to reflect on how we assign value to
nature—and how that perspective shapes our response to environmental challenges.
