  • Wait, am I not an imposter?
    2025/09/07

In our first full episode of Bar Review, we unpack what it means to actually own the work you have done. Not just in hindsight. Not just when someone hands you an invisible trophy. But in real time. While you are still mid-sprint and questioning when everyone else is going to realize you do not know how to run (girl, you ARE fucking running...). We talk invisible shiny gold stars, confidence gaps, and what it is like to be women in a profession that still expects you to apologize for ambition.
The joy is in the work. Not in the validation. Not in the star. Not in the highlight reel. The work.
This one is for the high achievers, the doubters, the star-chasers, and those still figuring out what they are allowed to claim as their own. You are not alone. And you do not need to earn the right to believe in yourself. Cheers!

  • Hi, I'm Cari.
    2025/08/31

Meet the other half of the Bar Review duo — Cari! If you know Cari, you know she only operates at one intensity level: HIGH. From fighting for constitutional rights in the criminal system to rolling up to the hospital with a notarized birth plan (yes, notarized), she gives 110% to literally everything. At 5’2” she packs more fire than folks twice her size. Trust me, I’ve watched correctional officers tremble in her wake.

She’ll always tell it to you straight, but she’s just as quick to hype you up and remind you of your power. One minute she’s ordering you a drink, the next she’s handing you a crystal and declaring you a witch. And honestly, she’s probably right on both counts.

Cari is bringing her world (and her energy) to today’s episode of Bar Review.

  • Hi, I'm Annika.
    2025/08/29

Let me introduce you to the goddess woman that is my friend, Annika. She makes a tortellini soup that has the power to heal your trauma. She negotiated a deal with the spider on her balcony to eat all of the mosquitos in exchange for his continued existence in her space. She ran 16 fucking miles last Sunday (SIX.TEEN!). She is such a loyal hype woman that I have seen her threaten my inner critic with physical violence with the wordless intensity of side eye alone. She went to trial six times in the last two years. And you will never catch her out and about without her signature red lip. But don’t just take my word for how cool she is. Get to know her on this episode of Bar Review.

Until the next episode, xx, Cari.

  • Pilot: We're not your lawyer. This is not legal advice.
    2025/08/27

In our pilot episode, Annika & Cari share why they started this podcast. From law school to the bar exam to the ups and downs of legal practice, we're here with unfiltered conversations, humor, and real talk about life in the legal profession. Just remember - we are not your lawyer, this is not legal advice, and all opinions are our own.

The Bar Review Podcast is all about the real journey through law school and beyond. Whether you’re a law student deep in bar exam prep, studying for the bar, or celebrating passing the bar, we’re here with unfiltered conversations about the legal profession and attorney life. From becoming a lawyer to navigating legal careers in biglaw, public interest law, in-house counsel, JD advantage roles, or even alternative careers for lawyers, we cover the full spectrum of what it means to build — and sometimes rethink — your path in the legal industry.

We don’t shy away from the hard stuff either. We talk about mental health for lawyers, lawyer wellness, work-life balance, law firm culture, diversity in law, and the unique experiences of women in law. Whether you’re a new attorney, exploring life after law school, or curious about nontraditional legal paths and leaving law altogether, you’ll find stories, insights, and community here.
