 Baltimore is buzzing with energy this week and there are events lined up for just about every interest and vibe. Whether you are into art, live music, fitness, family fun, or simply soaking up the city’s unique scene, there is a reason to get out from now through the weekend.

The Maryland State Fair is in full swing through September 7 at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium. Expect thrilling amusement rides, that classic fair food, and plenty of live entertainment. This is the 144th edition so it is a Maryland tradition you don't want to miss according to Baltimore Fishbowl.

Art lovers, get inspired at the Baltimore Art Gallery on 36th Street, with Rebecca Waring’s Showcase Exhibit opening Friday night, or take part in the Highlandtown First Friday Art Walk in the Arts District. You can even catch an interactive movie night screening of JAWS at the Creative Alliance on Eastern Avenue, which pairs a cult favorite with community vibes. Bird in Hand Coffee & Books is hosting a reading event from Yellow Arrow Publishing’s BLAZE for those who love the written word with their coffee, per Baltimore.org.

Friday night heats up at Rash Field Park where Sunset Jams presents the West Baltimore Mass Choir. Great music, local food, and waterfront views promise a lively start to the weekend, as highlighted by Waterfront Partnership of Baltimore.

Saturday, the Maryland Cycling Classic brings world-class pro racers — both men and women for the first time ever — through the heart of the city, starting from Harbor Point’s Central Plaza and finishing at Inner Harbor along Pratt Street. The city will be buzzing with cycling fans from around the world, and on Friday night ahead of the race you can even meet the athletes during the Team Introduction ceremony at Harbor Point, paired with a free public concert, announced by Waterfront Partnership of Baltimore.

If you are craving more live music, Benson Boone’s American Heart World Tour hits CFG Bank Arena on Saturday night, while art fans can check out Trevor Shimizu’s “Preservation” at Art Hall. Theatre goers won’t want to miss Aula de Flamenco at Theatre Project where dance and storytelling come together to celebrate flamenco culture, according to Baltimore Magazine.

Saturday night also brings Sunset Saturday, a rooftop party with dancing and skyline views atop the Belize Rooftop on Guilford Avenue. Dance under the stars and take in the city’s lights, says Eventbrite.

Rounding out the weekend on Sunday, Patterson Park hosts the family-friendly Mueveton and BabyFest, while Peabody Heights Brewery gets the fall vibes going early with an Oktoberfest Celebration. If basketball is your thing, catch the Washington Mystics take on the Indiana Fever at CFG Bank Arena.
