This week on the BLK GRL MOB POD, Maya sits down with longtime friend and MOB Boss Helena Richardson, founder of HRichnetworks and WNC Lagniappe.

Helena built a career in technology that included working at NASA before Hurricane Katrina changed the life she and her family had carefully built and eventually brought them from Louisiana to Virginia.

What followed wasn't simply starting over. It was reinvention.

Helena shares how the experiences, skills, relationships and lessons from her previous life became part of what she built next. Today, she helps entrepreneurs navigate websites, AI, automation, marketing and business technology while also creating spaces where women can build genuine relationships through WNC Lagniappe.

Maya and Helena talk about entrepreneurship, community, the power of relationships, the pressure to keep moving and why sometimes we need to slow down long enough to experience the life we're working so hard to build.

In this episode of MOB POD, Maya Lynn Harris talks with Aiyana Glover, founder of The Laptop Life Coach, a virtual coaching and education business helping children and young women build confidence, communication skills, leadership abilities, and a stronger sense of self.

Aiyana uses games such as Roblox and Minecraft to create safe, engaging learning environments for children ages 6–13. Through Milestone Mentor Coaching, she also provides young women ages 16–23 with practical, relatable big-sister guidance as they navigate academics, boundaries, peer pressure, and important life decisions.

Aiyana shares how she discovered that gaming could become a bridge to trust, why representation matters in online learning spaces, and how one child’s growth can create a ripple effect across families and future generations. She also opens up about building a mission-driven business and why entrepreneurs cannot allow perfection to delay progress.
