  • 105. Ally Wise: Unlearn Survival and Invite Ease with Anger

    "As children, the first emotion that warned us that “something is off“ within our system was anger. One of the rules of anger is to signal when a need is not met, a boundary is crossed, a pain is not acknowledged, or truth is not allowed. So, every time anger is triggered in the present moment, the whole body says, “I still remember the pain!“ or “ There’s still pain!”"

    Ally Wise, is a Life Transformation Coach with a focus on Self-connection, trauma resolution and nervous sytem healing. Throughout her healing journey, she came to a point when she understood that trauma resolution is the vehicle where her pain and purpose met one another, joined forces and a new path was born for her - liberation through transforming trauma. I've been following Ally on Instagram for awhile now and asked her to be a guest on the podcast to learn more about her journey and dive deeper into the ways we can unlearn survival and invite ease in to our relationship with anger.

  • 103. Balancing the Energy of Yang with Yin with Yoga Instructor, Val Aerni
    2023/08/24

    Val Aerni, is a E-RYT 200 (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher 200 hour) through Yoga Alliance with additional training in yin yoga, prenatal yoga, Yoga Mindset Coaching, yoga nidra, trauma-informed yoga, and health coaching. Val also holds a M.Ed. in Curriculum in Instruction from the University of Montana. Outside of teaching, Val loves to spend time with her family playing in the woods.

    Val shares: "I am a mom, a partner, and a yogi.  I love everything related to the outdoors, eating well, connecting with friends, and growing as a parent. Yoga is a practice that I come back to daily to help manage anxiety and life's ebbs and flows. 
    Some days I focus on my breathing or pranayama, other times I meditate. Sometimes I build heat with vinyasa or powerful movements, or I'll settle into stillness with yin or deep stretching. Sometimes I do it all. Regardless of HOW I practice, yoga always shifts my energy and grounds me back to self. It gives me strength, stamina, a sense of purpose, and balance. This is the power of yoga that I love to share with others!   • 100. Elevate Your Money DNA with Judy Wilkins-Smith

    Everybody inherits distinctly unique DNA. We inherit our ancestors’ good or bad looks, their blue, brown, or hazel eyes, their height, their teeth, and even their diseases. But did you know you can inherit your ancestors’ money habits as well? The science of epigenetics, which studies how gene expression is modified by individual behavior and environmental factors, is revealing that patterns of thought and emotion, attitudes, and actions are passed down to future generations. Just as we inherit DNA that dictates our physical attributes, we also inherit what we call emotional DNA. This means along with grandma’s broad shoulders you might also have been bequeathed her quick temper or her spendthrift attitude about money. Judy Wilkins Smith, world-renowned Family Patterns, Systemic Work and Constellations Expert, Motivational Speaker, and Author of Decoding Your Emotional Blueprint: A Powerful Guide to Transformation through Disentangling Multigenerational Patterns offers guidance to disentangling the financial patterns that aren’t working and transforming your Money DNA. Once you know the pattern, then you can change it.First off, identify a pattern with money that you wish you could stop. Now, take time to write down all the things you tell yourself about money. “Money doesn’t grow on trees. A penny saved is a penny earned.” We all have these automatic sayings about money, and it’s amazing how deeply these sentences affect us. Next, notice your feelings around money. Does just thinking about it make you apprehensive? Jot your feelings down. What actions do you take around money? Do you spend it freely? Pinch every penny? Wish you had more? Make a list. Now, you have an understanding of your inner financial world, write down where you first heard the sentences you use around money.  Who did those words come from? Your actions with money, whose money patterns do you follow the most closely? Try to identify originating events surrounding money in your family. If you can identify patterns and events from prior generations, you’ve just identified the origins of your thoughts, feelings, and actions around money—your Money DNA. And if you don’t have any knowledge of your ancestral history, that’s okay. Simply look at your own patterns with money. They came from someone. Being able to pin a name on the source of your money DNA is fun, but it isn’t necessary.Finally, imagine something good that you really want to do with your money.  Your deepest heart’s desire. Your heart’s desire embodies the new pattern of money that is trying to emerge through you. Allow yourself to feel what it would be like to achieve that heart’s desire. The clearer your heart’s desire, the more you can emotionally invest in itNow you are building new Money DNA—a new pattern that will pull you beyond your excuses, reasons, and patterns of staying stuck.
