How to face the negative voices and the anxiety. How to move forward and find the groove. Grace no more.  Lost the groove, the stuff.  It. The shot falls short. A step too slow.  Mope at the end of that bench.  What magic, we ask, when the body stumbles?  Go swish without the net.  Dunk when the rim is rust.  This is where we tell you, you still got it. BELT: A 2-Man Memoir is a podcast about masculinity by Joel Tauber and Eric Wilson.  Dino Herrmann composed the music and did the sound design. For this episode, Mojo, we interviewed Dr. Keith Kaufman, Clinical and Sports Psychologist.  Subscribe to BELT: A 2-Man Memoir and listen to it on Apple Podcasts, TuneIn, Spotify, Google Podcasts, Amazon Music, iHeart Radio, Podcast Index, Deezer, Vurbl, and here on our website. Talk About Fatherhood. Where are you?  Come back!  Clueless fathers groan.  Sons and daughters flee to the lemur pen, or the prairie dog's.  We yawp to our young, be wild and free, and then the next breath: abide the law.  This is the talk about fatherhood.  How to reconcile the frontier with the domicile, the crazed desert and the Sunday zoo. BELT: A 2-Man Memoir is a podcast about masculinity by Joel Tauber and Eric Wilson. Dino Herrmann composed the music and did the sound design. For this episode, Zoo, we interviewed Dr. Andrew Smiler, psychotherapist and former president of the society for the psychological study of men and masculinity. The Secrets Of Sport-Love. We are pulled between aggression and affection.  Take to the gridiron.  Hit him helmet to helmet.  Slap his ass all friendly.  Man you beat down, your new best friend.  Butt-pads for the bumpy world.  Better: the forward pass, spiraling tightly over gravity, and the pigskin lands light in your open hands.  Take off like a scalded dog. We are going deeper into the locker room than you’ve ever been.  We reveal the secrets of sport-love.  Footballs, soccer balls, basketballs, balls of all damn kinds.  Smell the sweat, the fear.  But everybody’s high-fiving and chest-bumping.  Your teammate is your very special pal. BELT: A 2-Man Memoir is a podcast about masculinity by Joel Tauber and Eric Wilson. Dino Herrmann composed the music and did the sound design. For this episode, Wishbone, we interviewed Conner Mertens, the first active college football player to come out publicly about his bi-sexuality. Becoming Eco-Men. Raccoon. Fronting the frontier.  Our destiny is manifest.  Daniel Boone learns a lesson.  Crockett's coonskin shrinks.  Return the pelt.  Eat a leaf.  We unlink the chain of being.  Melt down our muskets.  Find animals our equal, bushwhack a new path: the eco-man. Man-Talk About Motors. Under the hood, we are over our pistons.  Stick shift.  Cylinders in the thousands.  Sometimes a man's got to walk away from what drives him.  So ride on the bike at the back.  Schwinn.  Moped.  Vespa.  On what muscle will you grasp the driver? This is man-talk about motors.  Why do men need big trucks, when two wheels and decent balance gets you hither and yon?  Hear us unhook the fan belts, figure out how we can move over the earth with light and grace, beyond the skid and roar. BELT: A 2-Man Memoir is a podcast about masculinity by Joel Tauber and Eric Wilson.   Dino Herrmann composed the music and did the sound design.  For this episode, UberMan, we interviewed John Sloop, Professor and Associate Provost for Digital Learning at Vanderbilt University. A podcast episode about male violence. Tan the hide.  Spare the rod.  We etch with our awl the leather. Skin-poke. Violence bleeds from daddy to boy.  Our wit sweetens the flow.  Those dark voices—you are not strong enough—we hear and revise.  Like when you pee, you heed the Bible on your willy.  Circumscribed by circumcision.  Restore the foreskin.  Throw a shower party.  Slip-slide away. Listen to our shower party.  We don't sing, but we belt out our thoughts about how male violence gets passed from one generation to the next.  Corporal punishment and circumcision.  Both say to sons, through beating and cutting, conform. How to break the chain?   If you’ve been spanked, how do you discipline your children?  You’ve been circumcised.  Can you grow your foreskin back, figuratively speaking (or maybe literally)?  Can you restore your wholeness?  Joel and Eric wrestle with these questions, and each other.  They are pretty slippery, but always find their grip.  BELT: A 2-Man Memoir is a podcast about masculinity by Joel Tauber and Eric Wilson. Dino Herrmann composed the music and did the sound design. For this episode, Hickory Stick, we interviewed William Wallace, professor of biology at the College of Staten Island and member of the National Organization of Restoring Men.
