• Why Your Wife Misses the Man You Used To Be
    2026/08/27

You can be the husband everyone else respects and still be the reason your wife stopped waiting for you to come home.

Not sure where your gap actually lives? I built a free tool that will tell you in under 10 minutes. Seven questions, no fluff, just clarity: https://mogbrotherhood.com/the-gap-check

In this episode Ryan James Miller gets honest about the season in his own marriage when he was winning everywhere except at home. He was providing well, running the household like a business, and telling himself that was enough. It wasn't.

He breaks down why marriages rarely fall apart from one dramatic moment. Distance builds one ordinary evening at a time, one missed cue, one time reaching for a phone instead of a wife. The gap gets built quiet, and most men never see it coming because everything on the outside still looks like winning.

    Key topics:

    • Why running your house like a business does not make you present in your marriage
    • The difference between logistics and intimacy, and why high-performing men confuse the two
    • Why working harder and waiting it out both fail as fixes
    • The three shifts that actually closed the gap in Ryan's own marriage
    • Why vulnerability, not competence, is the real cost of reconnecting with your wife

    Main takeaways:

    • Your wife does not need a better plan from you. She needs to be seen and known.
    • A dialed in calendar is not the same thing as your wife feeling known.
    • Vulnerability is not weakness. In marriage, it is the cost of admission to real closeness.

The insight underneath the whole episode. Presence and provision are not the same thing. A man can master one and still be a stranger in the other, and nobody claps for the one that actually saves a marriage.

  • Stop Playing God For Everyone You Lead
    2026/08/20

He said if he disappeared tomorrow, everyone he provides for would be fine without him. Then he admitted the truth: they would not be fine, and neither would he.

This is for the man carrying more than his back can hold and calling it calling. If you feel that tightness in your chest right now, keep reading. This one is for you.

    In This Episode

Ryan shares the story of a high-performing, Jesus-following man who reached out in crisis, overwhelmed, exhausted, and convinced that everything would collapse without him. What surfaced in that conversation was not a scheduling problem or a leadership problem. It was a savior complex wearing biblical language.

Ryan walks through why sin that looks like sacrifice is far more dangerous than sin that looks like sin. Pornography and anger get resisted. Sacrifice gets applauded, even when it is actually pride wearing servant leadership as a disguise.

    Three shifts anchor the episode.

    • Needed versus loved. A man who needs to be needed has quietly made himself God to the people who actually need God.
    • Calling versus self-appointed. Real calling includes rest. If you never step away, what you are carrying is control, not calling.
    • Sacrifice versus absorption. Real sacrifice produces peace. What this man had was desperation, and his wife was the one absorbing the cost of a burden that was never hers to carry.

The heart of the episode lands here. God is not asking you to abandon anyone. He is asking you to stop being God for them. That is the drift. Naming it is the first step back.

    Key Takeaways

    • The performance trap is not always about ambition. Sometimes it wears the mask of sacrifice and service.
    • Self-reliance is the enemy underneath the performance trap, and it will dress itself in scripture to survive.
    • The most loving thing a man can do is stop absorbing consequences that belong to someone else, so the truth can finally surface and get fixed.

  • Why You Keep Breaking Promises To Yourself
    2026/08/13

You are not failing at discipline. You are trying to keep a promise made by a version of yourself you have not actually become yet, and that is why it dies by Wednesday every single time.

Not sure where your gap actually lives? Take the free GAP Check before you go any further. Seven questions, ten minutes, a straight answer: https://mogbrotherhood.com/the-gap-check

    What This Episode Covers

Every successful man knows the Monday feeling. Coffee is hot, calendar is clean, and the plan feels true. Then Wednesday hits, the plan cracks, and by Thursday he is already quietly building next Monday's version of the same promise.

In this episode, Ryan breaks down why that loop is not a discipline problem. It is an identity problem wearing discipline's clothes, and no amount of willpower fixes a plan built on a foundation that is not settled yet.

Key things covered in this episode:

    • The real reason a plan that felt completely true on Monday cannot survive Wednesday
    • Why more effort, stricter schedules, and new accountability threads never actually hold
    • The performance trap, and how self-reliance is the enemy underneath it, not laziness
    • A real client story showing what changes when identity gets settled before behavior does
    • The actual order that breaks the cycle: settled identity, known connection, clear calling, in that order

    The Core Insight

You cannot hold a man accountable to a version of himself he does not believe in. Every plan built by the man you wish you were, aimed at the man you actually are, cracks under the first real pressure of the week. That is not weakness. That is a diagnosis.

You were never built to close that gap alone. You were built for dependence on God and brotherhood with men who will actually ask you about your week on Wednesday, not just admire your plan on Monday.

  • Three Things Quietly Wrecking High Performing Christian Men
    2026/07/30

You can win every scoreboard that matters to everyone else and still be quietly drifting where no one can see it, and the wound you never named is usually the reason why.

Not sure where your gap actually lives? I built a free tool that will tell you in under 10 minutes. Seven questions, no fluff, just clarity: https://mogbrotherhood.com/the-gap-check

In April 2019, I had my first anxiety attack in the middle of the best year of my career on paper. Thirteen years walking with Jesus. My own consulting practice. My biggest client, a five-figure monthly contract, on the verge of walking out the door. And I ended up curled in the corner of my office floor.

This episode walks through that day minute by minute, then hands you the three step process I built out of it. I still use it every time the drift starts pulling me back under.

We cover the three things that were quietly doing the damage before I ever hit the floor. Working harder instead of dealing with what actually hurt. Measuring my life by a scoreboard other people could see instead of what was true. Self medication, which for me looked like overwork instead of what I was really avoiding.

We walk through the morning itself. The doubt about my calling, my capability, my worth. The three mile drive that felt impossible. The spiral about bills, about 2013, about what I would tell my wife and kids. And the three signals I ignored leading up to it, physical, mental, and spiritual, that I now know how to catch far sooner.

    The Core Insight

The drift never shows up wearing a name tag. It disguises itself as a busy season, a rough stretch, just Tuesday. But a wound with no bandage on it does not heal because you call it normal.

The second insight is the one most men miss. I did not get off that floor because I was strong enough. I got off it because I finally stopped trying to be. Your wound is not the disqualifier that costs you your man card. It is the raw material God uses to build the man.

    The Framework

Acknowledge the hurt. Realize the effect. Unlock the greatness. That order matters, and this episode shows you exactly how to walk it with whatever you are dealing with right now, not just the moments that put you on the floor.

  • Who Are You Without the Business
    2026/07/23

You can build a business, lead a team, and still not know who you are the second nobody is watching you perform.

If that hit something, take the free GAP Check before you go any further. It takes ten minutes and gives you a straight answer on where your life has actually drifted: https://chatgpt.com/g/g-6a0f5e6b47788191b8a8c56ef78bd7c1-the-gap-check

In this episode, Ryan breaks down Phase One of The Aligned Man coaching program, the four weeks he calls Settled Identity. This is the foundation every other part of the program stands on, and it is the part most men skip past on their way to fixing their marriage, their body, or their calling.

    What this episode covers

    • Why the Performance Trap convinces successful men their worth equals their output
    • The Identity Audit, a direct confrontation with where a man has actually built his worth
    • The one question that leaves confident, capable men in total silence
    • The Foundation Rebuild, and why discipline aimed at the wrong target just makes the wrong thing stronger
    • The Identity Declaration, and why a private realization never survives a hard Tuesday
    • Ryan's own story of losing everything in November of 2013, and what stayed true about him when it did

    Key takeaway

All good things, money, title, approval, achievement, even performance at church, become load bearing walls they were never built to hold. Your identity was never meant to rest on what you produce. It was meant to rest on Christ alone.

One more insight worth sitting with

Self awareness without action is not awareness. A lot of men know something is off and still do nothing about it. Naming the drift is step one. Declaring who you are, out loud, in writing, in front of men who will hold you to it, is what actually keeps you from drifting back.

Ask yourself the question Ryan asks every man who walks into his world. If everything you built disappeared tomorrow, who are you? Sit with that before you move on with your day.

  • How Drifting Men Become Aligned in 12 Weeks
    2026/07/09

You are not broken. You are drifting. And there is a difference that changes everything about what you do next.

Not sure where your gap actually lives? I built a free tool that will tell you in under 10 minutes. Seven questions, no fluff, just clarity: https://chatgpt.com/g/g-6a0f5e6b47788191b8a8c56ef78bd7c1-the-gap-check

Most successful men who reach out are not in crisis. They have built something real. The business works, the income is there, people trust them. But something is off and they know it. They feel the gap between the man people see and the man they know they are becoming. They cannot name it, fix it, or out-work it.

This episode is the full breakdown of The Aligned Man, a 12-week group coaching cohort built for faith-driven men who are winning professionally but sensing that gap growing on the inside. Three phases, nine projects, one man on the other side.

Phase one settles the foundation before anything else gets built. Most men skip this step and wonder why new disciplines never hold. You cannot hold yourself accountable to a version of yourself you do not believe in. The Identity Audit, Foundation Rebuild, and Identity Declaration change that.

Phase two breaks the isolation. Self-reliance is not a virtue for a faith-driven man. It is the mechanism the enemy uses most. We were not built to carry this alone. Brotherhood Disclosure, Marriage Reconnect, and Family Pursuit open the three relational arenas that drift quietly destroys first.

Phase three builds the structure for what comes next. Body Reclaim, Calling Map, and Weekly Reset give a man something to lead from long after the twelve weeks end. The drift will show up again. The difference is you catch it faster now.

The core insight of this episode is this. Clarity is not a feeling. It is a structure. And the man who builds that structure stops waiting to feel ready and starts living like the man he was made to be.

  • You Were Trained to Perform. God Called You to Become.
    2026/06/25

Most men don't have a motivation problem. They have a foundation problem, and they've been building on the wrong one for years.

Take the free GAP Check before you go any further. Seven questions, under 10 minutes, and it will show you exactly where your gap lives: https://chatgpt.com/g/g-6a0f5e6b47788191b8a8c56ef78bd7c1-the-gap-check

You built the life. You check the boxes. And somewhere in the middle of all of it, you feel nothing.

That is not a character flaw. That is a foundation issue. And in this episode, Ryan breaks down exactly why high-performing men keep arriving at the same hollow place, no matter how much they accomplish, and what it actually takes to stop performing and start becoming.

    Here is what gets covered:

    • The five markers of the performing life and why good men get trapped there without ever naming it
    • The five markers of the becoming life and what they produce in your faith, your marriage, your identity, and your brotherhood
    • A real coaching story of a man whose marriage was on the edge, whose wife eventually said, "I don't know what you're doing, but it's different," and what it took to get there
    • The five realities of the shift from performing to becoming, and why inspiration alone will never get you across that line

The core insight of this episode is simple and it is hard.

You cannot add becoming to a performing foundation. You have to rebuild from a different starting point. You can put the best shoes on the wrong foundation and it is still the wrong foundation.

The second insight is this: becoming is not a solo project. Performing identities thrive in isolation. Becoming requires brotherhood. God wired you that way from Genesis to Revelation, and nothing has changed.
