Dr. Andrew Winterstein recently retired from a career in athletics and education. Throughout his career he has seen almost all of it and experienced and participated in major changes within the athletic training profession.
In this episode, we discuss the changes in AT education and its current state and where Dr. Winterstein sees it going in the future. Beyond just the educating aspect of his career, Dr. Winterstein has also focused on leadership and development and we discuss his own leadership philosophy and how he has evolved it over time.
Dr. Winterstein was also a co-founder of the AATE and he discusses how the association came to be and how it was such a great collection of people focused on making a positive impact on the educational side of athletic training.
This was a special episode for me as Dr. Winterstein was my program director and it was great to catch up and have the conversation. Enjoy.
