They discuss Professor Monge’s transition from theological studies and education to a pioneer in the field of communication and his subsequent contributions to the areas of systems theory, communication networks, and organizational communication. Professor Monge further provides insight on how ICA, and the field of communication as a whole, has evolved since the 1970s and how he envisions the field further evolving, via globalization efforts and his introduction of evolutionary and ecological theory into organizational communication research.
