  • Episode 16 - Owls, Otters & Opossum
    2020/08/05

Hey gang! This episode focuses on O animals - and we chose three species we all have personal hands on experience working with so it's a little more personal, and a little more sciencetastic! But not too far off the mark, because one of us also drops the term "bifurcated vagina", albeit in an entirely scientific biology of life kind of way. Such as only an aquariologist can manage!

Highlights include bifurcated genitalia, owls and their multiple eyelids, otter cuddles, the science of playing dead and one brief but very earnest plea for help for science centers, aquariums, and museums the world over. Listen, rate, review and share!

  • Episode 14 - Two Lady Caps and One Fungi! (Also, Mushrooms!)
    2020/07/14

Fungi are not animals, this is true. But they are also not plants, and it gave one of us an excuse to make the most embarrassing pun of the episode title they could imagine! You'll learn who in the episode, we promise.

In this episode we dive into some hardcore science, discussing the ins and outs of fungal species and what makes them unique and fascinating. We reveal a little bit more of our Nerd to the world, and happily embrace it.

Major points include bleeding fungi, ruining the mythos of Mario (and our childhoods as a result), and talking psychedelic properties. Strap in, this one gets all scientific.
