  • Job and Paul: Spiritual Attack and Sustaining Grace
    2026/06/15

In Episode 6 of our Anxiety series, Paul and Rebecca Turner take a deep look into the life of Job and the painful reality of spiritual attack.

Job’s suffering was not random. Behind the scenes, Satan was allowed to unleash devastation upon Job’s life — attacking his family, health, stability, emotions, and relationships. The weight of grief and loss became so overwhelming that Job eventually despaired of life itself. Even the relationship between Job and his wife became strained under the crushing pressure of prolonged suffering.

Yet in the middle of confusion, fear, sorrow, and anxiety, Job clung to one unshakable truth: “I know that my redeemer liveth.”

In this episode, Paul and Rebecca discuss the reality that spiritual warfare is not imaginary. Sometimes anxiety is intensified by genuine spiritual attack, discouragement, temptation, oppression, and seasons of suffering that seem impossible to understand. Like Job, believers may find themselves asking difficult questions while trying to reconcile pain with the goodness of God.

The episode also draws powerful comparisons between the spiritual attacks experienced by Job and Paul the Apostle. Both men endured deep affliction. Both wrestled through weakness and suffering. Both were humbled by what God allowed in their lives. And both emerged from their trials with greater dependence upon the Lord and clearer understanding of His grace.

Through Job’s story, listeners are reminded that suffering can either harden the heart or humble it before God. Job’s trial ultimately changed the direction of his life, deepened his understanding of God, and refined his faith in ways comfort never could.

If you are walking through a season where life feels spiritually heavy, emotionally draining, or painfully confusing, this episode offers biblical hope that even in spiritual warfare, God remains faithful.

Join us as we explore the reality of spiritual attack, the endurance of faith, and the sustaining hope found in our living Redeemer through His all-consuming grace.

  • Elijah: When Fear Follows Faithfulness
    2026/06/08

In Part 5 of our Anxiety series, Paul and Rebecca Turner explore the life of Elijah and one of the clearest biblical pictures of emotional exhaustion, burnout, anxiety, and depression.

After incredible victories in ministry, Elijah finds himself emotionally drained and spiritually depleted. When Jezebel threatens his life, the mighty prophet flees into the wilderness, collapses beneath a juniper tree, and asks God to let him die. The man who once stood boldly before kings now sits alone in despair.

But instead of rebuking Elijah harshly, God lovingly ministers to him.

In this episode, Paul and Rebecca discuss the compassionate “protocol” God gives Elijah — a pattern of care that still speaks powerfully to anxious and exhausted people today. Before God addresses Elijah’s ministry, He addresses Elijah himself. Elijah is given rest, food, water, quietness, and time alone with the Lord. God restores him physically, emotionally, and spiritually before sending him back into faithful service.

This episode examines how anxiety and depression are often intensified by exhaustion, isolation, spiritual depletion, and prolonged stress. It also reminds us that caring for the body and mind is not separate from spiritual health. God created human beings holistically, and His care for Elijah demonstrates His deep compassion for every part of our lives.

Paul and Rebecca also discuss the importance of slowing down long enough to hear from the Lord again. In the stillness of the wilderness, Elijah discovers that God had not abandoned him, forgotten him, or finished using him.

If you have ever felt emotionally worn down, spiritually empty, or overwhelmed by life and ministry, Elijah’s story is a reminder that God meets weary people with sustaining grace, restoring truth, and compassionate care.

Join us as we learn how God revives exhausted souls and teaches us to live in His all-consuming grace.

  • When the Soul Frets — Hannah and the Weight of Anxiety
    2026/06/01

In Part 4 of our Anxiety series, Paul and Rebecca Turner examine the life of Hannah and the deep emotional struggle she carried for years because of her inability to have children. Hannah’s story reveals what we call Long-Term Contributor #2 to anxiety: internal, emotional, and deeply personal issues that must be confronted with God.

Over time, Hannah’s grief and anxiety grew heavier. The pain was constant, personal, and visible. Her husband tried to comfort her, yet even sincere comfort could not remove the burden in her soul. At the same time, the words and actions of her adversary continually reopened the wound, turning private pain into daily anguish.

Eventually, Hannah reached a breaking point — and a surrender point.

In one of the most honest prayers recorded in Scripture, Hannah pours out her heart before God with deep emotion and transparency. Her prayer was not polished, rehearsed, or superficial. It was the cry of a burdened soul seeking the Lord. Even when Eli misunderstood and wrongly labeled her because of her visible emotions, Hannah responded with humility and truth.

In this episode, Paul and Rebecca discuss how anxiety is often far deeper than outward circumstances. Sometimes anxiety grows slowly through years of unresolved grief, disappointment, fear, or emotional wounds. But rather than seeing anxiety as failure, believers can learn to see it as an opportunity to surrender fully to God and experience His sustaining grace.

This episode is also a challenge to those who minister to hurting people. Are we helping anxious souls with compassion and understanding, or are we deepening wounds through assumptions, labels, and shallow answers?

Join us as we learn from Hannah’s life how to bring our deepest struggles honestly before the Lord and rest in His all consuming grace.
