  • Job and Paul: Spiritual Attack and Sustaining Grace
    2026/06/15

In Episode 6 of our Anxiety series, Paul and Rebecca Turner take a deep look into the life of Job and the painful reality of spiritual attack.

Job’s suffering was not random. Behind the scenes, Satan was allowed to unleash devastation upon Job’s life — attacking his family, health, stability, emotions, and relationships. The weight of grief and loss became so overwhelming that Job eventually despaired of life itself. Even the relationship between Job and his wife became strained under the crushing pressure of prolonged suffering.

Yet in the middle of confusion, fear, sorrow, and anxiety, Job clung to one unshakable truth: “I know that my redeemer liveth.”

In this episode, Paul and Rebecca discuss the reality that spiritual warfare is not imaginary. Sometimes anxiety is intensified by genuine spiritual attack, discouragement, temptation, oppression, and seasons of suffering that seem impossible to understand. Like Job, believers may find themselves asking difficult questions while trying to reconcile pain with the goodness of God.

The episode also draws powerful comparisons between the spiritual attacks experienced by Job and Paul the Apostle. Both men endured deep affliction. Both wrestled through weakness and suffering. Both were humbled by what God allowed in their lives. And both emerged from their trials with greater dependence upon the Lord and clearer understanding of His grace.

Through Job’s story, listeners are reminded that suffering can either harden the heart or humble it before God. Job’s trial ultimately changed the direction of his life, deepened his understanding of God, and refined his faith in ways comfort never could.

If you are walking through a season where life feels spiritually heavy, emotionally draining, or painfully confusing, this episode offers biblical hope that even in spiritual warfare, God remains faithful.

Join us as we explore the reality of spiritual attack, the endurance of faith, and the sustaining hope found in our living Redeemer through His all-consuming grace.

  • Elijah: When Fear Follows Faithfulness
    2026/06/08

In Part 5 of our Anxiety series, Paul and Rebecca Turner explore the life of Elijah and one of the clearest biblical pictures of emotional exhaustion, burnout, anxiety, and depression.

After incredible victories in ministry, Elijah finds himself emotionally drained and spiritually depleted. When Jezebel threatens his life, the mighty prophet flees into the wilderness, collapses beneath a juniper tree, and asks God to let him die. The man who once stood boldly before kings now sits alone in despair.

But instead of rebuking Elijah harshly, God lovingly ministers to him.

In this episode, Paul and Rebecca discuss the compassionate “protocol” God gives Elijah — a pattern of care that still speaks powerfully to anxious and exhausted people today. Before God addresses Elijah’s ministry, He addresses Elijah himself. Elijah is given rest, food, water, quietness, and time alone with the Lord. God restores him physically, emotionally, and spiritually before sending him back into faithful service.

This episode examines how anxiety and depression are often intensified by exhaustion, isolation, spiritual depletion, and prolonged stress. It also reminds us that caring for the body and mind is not separate from spiritual health. God created human beings holistically, and His care for Elijah demonstrates His deep compassion for every part of our lives.

Paul and Rebecca also discuss the importance of slowing down long enough to hear from the Lord again. In the stillness of the wilderness, Elijah discovers that God had not abandoned him, forgotten him, or finished using him.

If you have ever felt emotionally worn down, spiritually empty, or overwhelmed by life and ministry, Elijah’s story is a reminder that God meets weary people with sustaining grace, restoring truth, and compassionate care.

Join us as we learn how God revives exhausted souls and teaches us to live in His all-consuming grace.

  • When the Soul Frets — Hannah and the Weight of Anxiety
    2026/06/01

In Part 4 of our Anxiety series, Paul and Rebecca Turner examine the life of Hannah and the deep emotional struggle she carried for years because of her inability to have children. Hannah’s story reveals what we call Long-Term Contributor #2 to anxiety: internal, emotional, and deeply personal issues that must be confronted with God.

Over time, Hannah’s grief and anxiety grew heavier. The pain was constant, personal, and visible. Her husband tried to comfort her, yet even sincere comfort could not remove the burden in her soul. At the same time, the words and actions of her adversary continually reopened the wound, turning private pain into daily anguish.

Eventually, Hannah reached a breaking point — and a surrender point.

In one of the most honest prayers recorded in Scripture, Hannah pours out her heart before God with deep emotion and transparency. Her prayer was not polished, rehearsed, or superficial. It was the cry of a burdened soul seeking the Lord. Even when Eli misunderstood and wrongly labeled her because of her visible emotions, Hannah responded with humility and truth.

In this episode, Paul and Rebecca discuss how anxiety is often far deeper than outward circumstances. Sometimes anxiety grows slowly through years of unresolved grief, disappointment, fear, or emotional wounds. But rather than seeing anxiety as failure, believers can learn to see it as an opportunity to surrender fully to God and experience His sustaining grace.

This episode is also a challenge to those who minister to hurting people. Are we helping anxious souls with compassion and understanding, or are we deepening wounds through assumptions, labels, and shallow answers?

Join us as we learn from Hannah’s life how to bring our deepest struggles honestly before the Lord and rest in His all consuming grace.

  • When Anxiety Argues with God
    2026/05/25

In Part 3 of our series on anxiety, Paul and Rebecca Turner take a deep look at the life of Moses and his encounter with God at the burning bush. Faced with God’s calling, Moses responds with excuse after excuse — “Who am I?” … “What if they won’t believe me?” … “I’m not eloquent.” Finally, in fear and anxiety, Moses simply asks God to send someone else.

How often do we do the same?

Anxiety can fill our hearts with hesitation, excuses, and even resistance to the will of God. Psalm 14:1 reminds us, “The fool hath said in his heart, No God.” In this episode, Paul and Rebecca discuss the danger of allowing fear to lead us into telling God “no,” while also exploring the beautiful truth that God never calls us based on our strength, ability, or confidence.

Through the story of Moses, we are reminded that God’s strength is made perfect in weakness. When we stop trusting ourselves and start depending fully on Him, we find grace sufficient for every fear, every excuse, and every calling.

Join us as we learn to stop running from God’s will and start resting in His all-consuming grace.

  • When Fear Meets the Call of God: Finding Confidence in the Lord Through the Anxiety of Gideon
    2026/05/18

Welcome back to the All Consuming Grace Podcast with your hosts, Paul Turner and Rebecca Turner for another episode in our series on anxiety.

In episode one, we learned that misplaced confidence will always produce instability. When our confidence rests in circumstances, finances, culture, other people, or even ourselves, anxiety is never far behind. But when our confidence is rooted in the Lord, we discover a peace that is not dependent upon what is happening around us.

In this second episode, we turn to the life of Gideon — a man hiding in a winepress while the world around him was collapsing.

Israel was living in spiritual rebellion. God’s people were no longer living consistently with who they were called to be. The culture around Gideon was marked by idolatry, fear, oppression, instability, and conflict. The Midianites consumed the land’s resources, food shortages were common, and families lived in uncertainty. Even Gideon’s own father had embraced Baal worship. Everywhere Gideon looked, there were reasons to be anxious.

    And then God called him.

Gideon’s response sounds strikingly familiar to many anxious hearts today. Instead of confidence, he offered excuses. He questioned where God had been. He focused on his weakness. He pointed to his poor family. He reminded the Lord that he was the least in his father’s house. His confidence was misplaced because his eyes were fixed on circumstances instead of the presence of God.

Yet what is so beautiful in this account is not merely Gideon’s fear — it is God’s response to it.

The Lord did not crush Gideon for being anxious. He lovingly met him in the middle of it. God reminded Gideon of three life-changing truths: who the Lord is, who Gideon was in God’s eyes, and that the Lord was with him.

As Christians, this passage teaches us not only how God deals with anxious people, but also how we should minister to others who are struggling with fear and instability. The answer to anxiety is not found in pretending circumstances are easy; it is found in learning to see them through the presence and promises of God.

Join us as we walk through the winepress with Gideon and discover how the Lord transforms fearful people into faithful servants through His all-consuming grace.

  • The Antithesis of Anxiety: Confidence in the Lord
    2026/05/11

In this opening episode of our new series on anxiety, Rebecca and Paul begin at the foundation: confidence.

Anxiety often exposes where our trust has quietly been placed. We put confidence in people, in predictable circumstances, in our own strength, or in the illusion of control — and when those things shake, our hearts shake with them. But Scripture continually calls us to something deeper and steadier: confidence in the Lord.

Together, we explore how true hope for the anxious heart is not found in better circumstances, stronger self-confidence, or simply trying harder to “calm down.” Real peace begins when our confidence rests in the unchanging character of God Himself.

Whether anxiety comes in sudden waves or has lingered for years, this series is designed to walk carefully and honestly through the treasure trove of truth God has given us in His Word. Our prayer is that these conversations will not merely provide information about anxiety, but will help lead weary hearts toward lasting hope, deeper surrender, and greater confidence in Christ.

Because peace is not ultimately found in controlling life — it is found in knowing the One who holds it.

Join us as we begin this journey through Scripture together.

  • Redeem Your Time: Be the Eunuch!
    2026/05/07

In this follow-up episode of The Guide Service Podcast, Paul Turner continues the discussion on redeeming the time by asking a challenging question:

“If I had been blessed with less… would I accomplish more?”

Using the incredible story of Erik Weihenmayer—the blind adventurer who summited Mount Everest and conquered countless other challenges—Paul examines how limitations sometimes create greater focus, discipline, and purpose than abundance ever could.

Many of us have been richly blessed physically, materially, and spiritually. Yet the very comforts and distractions we possess can quietly rob us of urgency, intentionality, and purpose. Instead of redeeming the time, we waste it.

    This episode explores:

    • Why comfort can become a spiritual obstacle
    • How distractions consume our lives without us realizing it
    • The difference between being busy and being purposeful
    • What it means to truly steward free time for God’s glory

Paul also turns to the example of the Ethiopian eunuch in Acts 8—a man who used his travel time not for entertainment or distraction, but to read the Scriptures and seek truth. Sitting in his chariot, reading from Isaiah the prophet, the eunuch becomes a picture of what believers should be doing with their downtime: pursuing God.

Along the way, Paul humorously imagines a T-shirt that says:

    “Be a Eunuch!”

Not because of what the man was physically—but because of what he was spiritually: hungry, intentional, and redeeming his time wisely.

This episode is a convicting and practical reminder that time is life, distractions are costly, and purpose does not happen by accident.

  • Know Your Enemy, Part 2: Satan’s Sphere and the Battle for Worship
    2026/04/27

In this second and final part of the Know Your Enemy series on the All Consuming Grace Podcast, Paul and Rebecca Turner shift the focus from Satan’s identity to his activity—his sphere of operation in the world today.

Scripture reveals Satan as the traducer—the slanderer and deceiver—and his arena is this present world. Though fallen, he still exercises real influence, working through systems, cultures, and hearts in an effort to advance his ultimate agenda: to be like God and to draw worship to himself.

Every scheme, every lie, every distortion in this spiritual battle serves that singular goal.

Yet this episode is not about fear—it’s about clarity and confidence. While Satan is actively “playing to win,” believers are reminded of an unshakable truth: the victory has already been secured. In Christ, we are not fighting for victory, but from it.

Paul and Rebecca challenge families to recognize the enemy’s influence, stand firm in their God-given identity, and live daily in the reality of His all-consuming grace.

You know your enemy—now live like you know your victory.
