    The Netflix series Making a Murderer captivated millions with the murder of Teresa Halbach in 2005 and questioned of innocence of Steven Avery and Brendan Dassey. While the series did its job of bringing attention to the case, it ended up overshadowing the true victim. Regardless of Steven’s innocence or guilt, Teresa Halbach, a 25-year-old woman, was murdered. Today, she will not just be the cliff note to Steven’s story.
