Welcome to the Accessible Hunter podcast, where we talk about all things hunting, the great outdoors, life with a disability and meeting people where they are. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and the sport of hunting. That's why we're here, to provide information and resources to hunters with disabilities, so that they can safely and ethically pursue their passions.Accessible Hunter

This week on the Accessible Hunter Podcast, we’re joined by Ira Edwards!

Ira has spent years proving that the outdoors should be accessible to everyone, and his story is filled with incredible people and organizations that stepped up to make that possible.

In this episode, Ira shares how organizations like High Fives Foundation, Kelly Brush Foundation, Challenge Athletes Foundation, Chive Charities, Big Agnes, and Eagle Claw helped him gain access to adaptive equipment and opened doors to new adventures. From handcycles and adaptive skiing to surfing, camping, fishing, and hunting, these partnerships have helped him—and countless others—experience the outdoors without limits.

One story that really stands out is the High Fives Foundation. Ira was just their 10th athlete in 2011, and today they’ve helped more than 1,400 adaptive athletes. They’re currently accepting grant applications, so if you or someone you know could benefit, this is an opportunity worth checking out.

This conversation is packed with inspiration, practical resources, and a reminder that the right support can change lives.

🎙️ Tune in this week and hear Ira’s incredible journey.
