This is the introductory podcast for Dr. Brian Hartman, Emergency Medicine Physician and Fiction Author.

I am creating this podcast to offer my insights on the world of medicine, writing, politics, humor, and so much more. I've spent 20 years as an ER doctor working in both urban and rural settings, in resource-rich as well as resource-poor environments. I've seen tens of thousands of patients and talked to many more family members along the way.

I'm a husband and father, as well as a fiction author. I have eight books in print, most with strong medical themes.

My main series is a medical thriller staring ER physician Dr. Bryce Chapman. Redemption is book one, followed by Deception, Vengeance, and Hanging By a String.

I have two psychological thrillers, Lake Sinclair and It Happened In the Loft.

I started a new eco-terror thriller series with Murder Burger. Seeds of Change is the second book and will release in 2025.

My first Christian fiction novel, Sacrifical Touch, released on Christmas, 2024. This follows Dr. Cameron Turner, an ER doctor who is killed by a patient and has a near-death experience with God. He receives the gift to heal anyone of anything, but it comes at a price. One month of his life expectancy vanishes every time he uses it. This takes a look at altruism in medicine and how society reacts to a miracle worker in its midst.

The podcast will have several components.

Opening Rant - A discussion of whatever I'm motivated to talk about at the time of recording. This first episode touches on anxiety and depression, and why it's such a problem today. Both with prevalence and how we treat it.

Laughter as Medicine - I posted a video and FB post about the blizzard and a prank I pulled on the readers.
