In today's podcast, Todd, Bob and John welcome in Christian Lemon.

Christian grew up here in Valparaiso Indiana and at the age of 9, he met Todd, who had been volunteering in a lunch buddy program to mentor kids.

Ten years have gone by and Christian has grown up to be a part of Todd's family.

The Anchormen have met and know Christian but we got a chance to sit down and talk with Christian now that he's 18 and let him reflect on what having a mentor has meant to him and how important it is for men to step up and be obedient to the Holy Spirit leading.

Christian talks through some of the trials he has faed and that he continues to face.

Mostly we get to hear how Jesus has played a major part in who Christian has become and who he hopes to become as a Child of God.

He tell about how he shares the meetings with his family and loves to listen twice just to take notes and dig deeper into scripture.

Even though Craig is not present every week at group meetings, He has been impacted by the fellowship and teachings about God's grace and even how he has begun to unlearn some of the things he was taught growing up believing, but never taking the time to read scripture and get to know who Jesus is and all that He has done for us.

Our lives get changed all the time and influenced by so many things but this week, our guest, Ed Ivanio, will tell us a little about how he grew up learning and knowing about God, but since he has began a journey with the Anchormen over a year ago, His life has changed.

How has his view of who God has changed and now Ed understands Who God is and not about Him. What God has done in his life and how this change or "New Identity" has had an impact on his own children and the hundreds that he has influenced on as a local principle at a local Middle school here in Northwest Indiana.

Obedience.

It begins with childhood and being obedient to our parents, teachers, then spouses and supervisors and law enforcement officials. That's the obedience we all grew up knowing.

God has another definition of OBEDIENCE that's explained in the new covenant teaching in

Galatians 6:5-8 5 Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ. 6 Obey them not only to win their favor when their eye is on you, but as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart. 7 Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people, 8 because you know that the Lord will reward each one for whatever good they do, whether they are slave or free.

We are focusing on verse 7 here to Serve Wholeheartedly. Not to serve for our self righteousness but from the righteousness that God gave us through Jesus.
