If you’ve found this episode, you may have been pulled in by the title. And if you’ve listened to my show for a while, you know I try to avoid dramatic headlines and writing. But the fact of the matter is, no matter how many titles I tossed around for this episode, I kept coming back to the urgency of telling this story and how dangerous it’s going to be in Spring of 2027 for anybody living in the community that this prime suspect gets released into.
In April of 1995, a seventeen-year-old girl was hanging out in the strip mall where she worked in a local grocery store in her little town an hour north of NYC.
She was supposed to visit with her boyfriend that night, who also worked in that plaza. But she didn’t show up. And the last person who saw her was a man with a trail behind him of predatory and violent behavior, most of which he had evaded any consequences for. His actions in the years after Robin’s disappearance would land him a 30-year jail sentence. But he is yet to be charged in Robin’s disappearance and suspected murder, or in the murder of another young 12-year-old girl from the same town. With the clock winding down, he’s due to be released in less than two years. It’s time to get answers in Robin’s case and keep a violent predator where he belongs.
