In order to get through to the Corinthians, who have been swayed by false teachers and their boasts, that Paul is going to do some boasting of his own. Of course, when one examines how Paul "boasts", his focus is not on himself but on what Christ has done as he boasts on his suffering.

In our text, Paul addresses the Corinthians foolishness of accepting false teachers with a bit of "foolishness" of his own. We learn how false teachers can easily creep into the church and what we need to look out for.

As we study the short book of 3 John we key in on the three people mentioned and find why their examples are important to us.

We are to be those who love truth and show truth in love. As we study 2 John we discover exactly what that means.

The Apostle Paul begins to take the time to answer the attacks against him beginning in this chapter because when attacks start to impact the ministry, they can no longer be ignored. As we examine our text today, we learn habits that need to be part of our lives now so we can handle attacks well.

Paul focuses on the motivations for giving and we find keys to be sure we are giving with the right heart attitude.

Pastor Mike takes a quick break from our 2 Corinthians study to exhort us from Haggai not to be distracted from the work at hand, examining the excuses that Israel used (and we still use today) to not do the the work God has called us to do.
