• The Previous Episode Unpacked our Need to be Born Again. This Episode Unpacks how it Happens.
    2026/06/30

In this episode, I point out that the New Testament was written in Greek. With that in mind, I explain that the Greek word translated as "again" in English is "anothen," which means "again" and "above". In addition to presenting verses that explain how being born again happens, I use again and above to guard against thinking that "I am a Christian" when you are not born again - and also thinking that I am "born again" when you are not born again. Note: A Christian is someone who is born again, nothing more, less, or in between. Considering how the church is presenting a watered-down gospel, I fear that thinking I am a Christian when you aren't a Christian is becoming the norm rather than the exception.

  • Part B of Jesus Proclaiming what no other Religion Proclaims: God is Personal and Knowable (John 17:1-3). In this Episode, I Continue to Share how I Came to Know God
    2026/06/24

If you tuned in to this episode before the one that leads up to it, I suggest you listen to that one first. In this episode, which begins where the initial one ended, I share how I came to know God at the age of twenty, broken and damaged by sexual abuse at fourteen that tore "me" out of "me" - and that Jesus restored the life that I had been robbed of - a better life than I could have imagined, now and for eternity! I pray that my story will be of encouragement to you. Dennis

  • Jesus Proclaimed what no other Religion Proclaims: God is Personable and Knowable (John 17:1-3. In this Episode, I Share How I Came to Know God: what it Means to be a Christian.
    2026/06/24

Welcome to the maiden voyage of my podcast. As I thought about why Christianity differs from other religions, I remembered what Jesus said in John 17:1-3, and I chose that difference for this episode: "Father, the hour has come; glorify Your Son, that the Son may glorify You, even as You gave Him authority over all flesh (unique to Christianity), that to all Whom You have given Him, He may give eternal life (unique to Christianity). This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God (unique to Christianity), and Jesus Christ whom You have sent" (NASB). The true God is the Trinity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Jesus is the Son of God, the God-Man born by the Holy Spirit through the womb of the Virgin Mary (Luke 1:26-28). Keep this in mind as you listen to this episode. Also, I made an error in this episode that I didn't realize until I listened to it. I mentioned a book by Puritan John Owen that has had an impact on my walk with God. I said that it was The Mortification of the Flesh; the correct title is The Mortification of Sin.
