We close out season three with someone who's been in our corner since high school; Cheryl from Ohio. She's been a listener since day one, texting us between shows with her reactions, insights and sometimes corrections(!). Cheryl has valuable opinions that never made it on mic, until now. We also revisit the "Naked High School Swimming" episode and get Cheryl's take from the female perspective.

A fitting way to end the season — reflecting on how we tell our stories, and how the people who were actually there remember it....sometimes differently.

We had a plan for this one - ease in, build up, save the heavy stuff for the end. That's not how it went. One of us had a story that wouldn't wait for its cue, and once it started, there was no easing into it. Turned out to be some of the realest stuff we've done. Sometimes what you're chasing isn't the thing you actually need. You might spend a long time asking for more patience, only to realize it's actually surrender that gets you to the finish line.

Before that, some lighter business - postcards from Cheryl in Ohio - hot damn!! (yes, that Cheryl). A couple of overdue apologies from Jim and Danny, and a real conversation about two words we throw around a lot without really defining — emotional intelligence, and amends. Turns out most of us are faking it on both.
