このコンテンツについて
Polyamory is generally defined as the practice of, or desire for, romantic relationships with more than one partner at the same time, with informed consent of all partners involved.
There are as many ways to be poly as there are many different interpretations of what it is exactly. But at the core of this relationship dynamic is being ETHICALLY NON-MONOGOMOUS (ENM).
In this 27th episode of the WBAY Podcast, Suzy and Sam are talking with Blue Ridge residents Elle and Eric about their polyamorous relationship.
She's been part of poly relationships for over two decades since her early 20s. Eric is relatively new, practicing polyamory for about four years. They are together now building a life together and sharing their perspectives with us.
Is being Polly for everyone?
Is it natural?
Is it relationship shopping?
Can it "fix" the potential boredom of a long-term monogamous relationship?
Is it merely hooking up with anyone you want as long as your primary partner knows? What should your partner know?
How to avoid scheduling complexities, and the pitfalls of negative emotions such as jealousy?
Let's not forget that this is an intentional lifestyle with complexities that require a lot of work and communication. Boundaries are established. When it is done well there may be more capacity for love and joy and personal growth.
We mention one of our favorite words in this episode. COMPERSION. This is defined as our wholehearted participation in the happiness of others, even when their positive experience does not include or benefit us directly.
Enjoy the show.
