We preach grace to others. We believe in God’s forgiveness. But when it comes to ourselves, we struggle. Why is it easier to believe God forgives them… but so hard to believe He forgives me? This is where the enemy loves to wage war: in the battleground of your mind, using your own memories as weapons.

Our springboard for today’s discussion is:“As far as the east is from the west, so far does He remove our transgressions from us.” — Psalm 103:12 (ESV)

Let’s get something straight—Jesus didn’t die for part of your sin. He died for all of it. If He says it’s removed as far as the east is from the west, then it is. If He says you’re clean, then you are.

The problem? We keep dragging the past back into the present. Not because God hasn’t forgiven us—but because we haven’t forgiven ourselves.

That abortion you never told anyone about…That word you wish you could take back…That season of rebellion that still haunts you…

These moments play on repeat in your mind, while heaven has already hit “delete.”

Self-forgiveness isn’t weakness or denial—it’s agreement with the cross. When you withhold forgiveness from yourself, you’re saying your standard is higher than God’s. You’re denying the power of the blood. And that’s not humility—it’s bondage.

It’s time to let go. Not just because it’s healthy—but because it’s holy. When God says “It is finished,” He means your shame is finished, too.

So today, speak to yourself the same grace you’ve spoken over others. Look in the mirror and say, “I am forgiven. I am free. I am no longer bound by what I cannot change.”
