  • #235: Bonkers Barnet, Notts County, and 606
    2025/08/01

We wait all summer for the season to start, and THAT'S what we're treated to? Oh Newport County, don't ever change. Jamie attempts to dissect that wild League Cup game at Barnet on Tuesday night, joined by occasional contributor Dave (YrAlltudion). From screamers to injury time capitulation, they try and figure out what's in store for the season after getting a first look at Dave Hughes' side in competitive action.

Jamie also rounds us off with a look ahead to the first league game at home to Notts County this weekend, taking in listener correspondence.

As always, you can contact us via your social media platform of choice, and please also consider donating as little as £2 via our ko-fi page if you like what we do. We’re delighted that the Riverside Sports Bar (the home of Welsh sports fans) are giving us their valued support for another season, and we remain hugely grateful to Tinty & The Bucket Hats for letting us use Discoland as our theme tune. Our correspondence music for this episode is Virgo by Sean T.

We'll be back with reflections post-Notts County. But until then: look after yourselves, look after each other, and above all – as always – Keep It County!

  • #234: Season preview
    2025/07/26

Gentleman, start your engines, the 2025/26 season is upon us... Jamie has the unenviable task of chairing the panel in this one - he welcomes Jack, Ian, Ed, Rhys and new crew member Alfie to give their thoughts on the season ahead. They discuss the strength in depth of the squad, likely tactical approaches, the panel's hopes and dreams for the season, and our predictions of where the team will finish in the Fourth Division.

A rare video version of this episode is available over on our YouTube page, if you want to see some of the funky graphics and charts to which the panel refer throughout the discussion. The slides can also be found here.
