  • Day in the Life Part 2: The weekend on maternity leave the the last day of the school holidays!
    2026/04/22

Welcome to an average Sunday for us with a 3 year old and an 8 month old baby on the last day of the school holidays!

I love DITL videos on TikTok and Instagram - they're my guilty pleasure watching peoples average day to day lives! So this is ours - loads of chores, trying to keep the kids entertained and trying to prepare for the week ahead and back to preschool for my eldest. I cant believe I used to think my weekends when I was 25 were busy...

How do you spend your Sundays? Is it manic from the get go or have you found a way to make it relaxing? Can all the jobs wait or it better to get on top of it?

  • Sort My Life Out: Spring cleaning, decluttering and home organization hacks for exhausted parents
    2026/04/08

    Its been a bad month...

Join me this week as I talk about why I'm not chasing baby sleep “fixes” and instead focusing (maybe too much) on decluttering and home organization.

I can't control my baby's sleep so I'm trying to control what I can with a “sort my life out” spring cleaning reset done in 5–10 minute bursts:

From a wardrobe overhaul thats different than usual and finding joy in vacuum storage bags to my top hacks for making life slightly less chaotic with kids.

Plus my plans for a digital declutter, garden prep, and getting on top of boring life admin.

If anyone would like a list of my ultimate "sort your life out - Spring reset" then let me know and I will add it here!

And while my baby continues to wake every 30 minutes then I would love to hear anything I've missed or if anyone has any other parenting hacks for making life as easy as possible through this rough patch!

  • The Science and Heart of Breastfeeding: with breastfeeding medicine practitioner and lactation consultant Dr Mariana Colmenares
    2026/04/01

Breastfeeding Support UK: Breastfeeding Medicine, Lactation Consultant Advice, Tongue Tie, Milk Supply & Newborn Sleep Myths (with Dr Mariana Colere)

In today's episode we have the incredible Dr Mariana Colmenares, a UK breastfeeding physician and paediatrician at the Global Breastfeeding Clinic in London, talking about breastfeeding medicine and postnatal physiology.

Dr Colmenares explains how her own experience of breastfeeding led her into lactation consulting and discusses “matrescence,” the hormone-driven brain and behaviour changes after having a baby (whether breastfeeding or bottle feeding).

She clarifies differences between midwives/health visitors/GPs and lactation consultants. Common issues include painful latch, weight gain concerns, tongue-tie assessment/release, and medical factors affecting supply (hypothyroidism, PCOS, gestational diabetes). We cover inducing lactation for adoptive/surrogate/lesbian/trans families, partner bonding and oxytocin, newborn sleep expectations, and myths about diet, colic, and “milk-boosting” foods.

If you're currently breastfeeding or thinking about it then this is the episode for you!

If anyone has any questions for Dr Colmenares then I'm sure she will try to answer them in the comments.

And if anyone would like more information about the Global Breastfeeding clinic then this is their website: https://www.globalbreastfeedingclinic.com/

I hope you enjoy the episode and if you haven't already I would love if you subscribed to the show and follow 10,000 steps with baby on Instagram!Th

  • Parents in the workplace - with special guest: Anna Burgan
    2026/03/11

I am joined this week by Anna Burgan - the founder of Make Space ltd and mum to 2 boys - who is training companies on how to support parents in the workplace!

Listen in as we discuss why 1/3 women leave their jobs after having a baby and what companies can do to create an environment that supports working mums. Plus our own experiences of returning to work after maternity leave (including crying in the toilets at work) and why being a working dad is different (and maybe harder?) than a working mum.

I talk about mum guilt in its MANY forms, how we are still struggling to leave the house, why I'm telling off my 6 months old baby and what I'd say to anyone considering another baby.
