Question:
My estranged and exceptionally abusive father died recently leaving no will. Per the laws of the state he lived in, all three of his children equally own everything our father had.
So my brother is asking my sister and I to give up our claim to the house (main asset in the estate) for free, with absolutely no financial benefit whatsoever for us. Obviously that cannot be said for him as the land value alone is worth something.
**Question** Should I walk away and let him have the house for free? Or should I fight for my rights for my claim of the house?
