The Charleston Battery fought their way back into the match at Colorado Springs, equalized in the 81st minute and appeared ready to escape with a valuable road point.

Then it all fell apart again.

In this episode of Cannon Crüe, Granit, Patrick and Ryan break down Charleston’s 2–1 loss to the Switchbacks and confront the issue that has become impossible to ignore: the Battery’s continuing inconsistency in goal.

Charleston followed a June in which the club scored 16 goals in four league matches with a July that produced only four goals across four matches. The Battery remain near the top of the Eastern Conference, but poor road performances, defensive breakdowns and an inability to protect results have left the team stuck in a crowded group of contenders.
