On December 7th, Japan reaches Taisetsu, “Major Snow,” one of the 24 solar terms that marks the real beginning of winter. In this episode, I talk about Japanese fuyu-jitaku—getting ready for winter—such as heaters, warm clothes, hot-water bottles, and winter tires.
