It has had various portrayals in media over the last century, typically depicted as a man-eating monster with an icy heart, but its true origins are even darker and much less of a physical manifestation. But has its wide portrayal in pop culture doing more harm than good, and has the true legend been muddled among bad retellings? We do a deep dive into a couple Wendigo retellings, in particular, Wendigo 2001, and see just how scary the Wendigo really is.
