Hale is a young journalist living in Long Beach, California. He lives a secluded life, relying on his laptop and a single extroverted friend to be his link to the outside world. Hale is pulled from his solitude by an intriguing woman named Cass with a strong analytical eye. Her ability to gather and interpret data compliments Hale's ability to gather random information.
After encountering a budding cult of Touched individuals like Hale, a murder mystery, and a shadowy organization with unclear motives, Hale and Cass realize their unique abilities can pick through the imbroglio of mysteries if they work together.
