The Wolves of War is such a good read that I couldn't put it down. It's filled with creatures and gods from Eastern European folktales and mythology, but with John's unique twist, as well as the brave-hearted characters we have always loved in Gwynne's work. Raise your seax and shield . . . Gwynne has done it again. Reader beware: you will be captivated . . . head and heart!
Fast pacing, likable characters, gritty battles, and fantastical beasties. If the little girl Halia doesn't steal your heart, you might have left it in your other shirt pocket (Christopher Buehlman)
