あらすじ・解説

A manifesto of business practices for those who sell ideas and advice, The Win Without Pitching Manifesto lays out 12 steps - in the form of proclamations - that owners of creative businesses can take to distance themselves from their competition, regain the high ground in their client relationships and learn to win business without first parting with their thinking or writing lengthy proposals. The 12 proclamations were written to inspire owners of independent creative businesses (e.g.: design firms and advertising agencies) to rethink how their services are bought and sold. Anyone who sells ideas or advice will find relevance in these teachings.

Thanks, Chris Do, for this one. A game changer.

Foundational, fundamental, irreplaceably invaluable. Insightfully elucidated by way of a great voice over talent. Recommend!

Insightful and Accurate

What a time to be alive as a creator!!! I love the articulation of various scenarios in the book that are eye opening and that convey frequent "Aha" moments, can't wait to apply these proclamations on my first few prospects. Quantity of clients isn't necessary but he quality is!!! PS: I'll use all the proceeds from the knowledge gained to purchase the sequel, "Pricing Creativity"

Absolute Game Changer

This book is second level thinking. Blair does a phenomenal job of explanation and description of what it takes to be the best. Will listen again and purchased hard copy as well. Narration is world class also. Thank you to both Blair and Shannyn for the information and experience like nothing before.

Great Concept

It's frustrating that with odds of getting startup funding through pitching to investors is somewhere between 1 and 100 and 1 and 1000 depending on the funding level and who you believe. With this modern canned startup formula that involves funding through pitching to investors, this book is refreshing and throws away the concept, with a focus on building funds through customer relationships and knowing the value of your product, concept, or idea.

The book is a good read but is more motivational and reinforcement of having confidence in your product and product value. Basic sales concepts are layered in the chapters and methodology as well but do not go into gory details that are better derived from some of the top "how to sell" books.

It remains to be seen if this approach works. This book does not help if you need to find startup cash and need a lot to get to a first MVP. It's all about slowly building customers, given you have a product or concept ready to sell.

I've listened to it three times already, phenomena

being a manifesto, the book has very little fluff. it's not dry, it actually has multiple stories and tangible examples. it's brief, it's not long-winded, and it's full of real examples.

the phrase, drinking out of a fire hose, is very applicable in this book.

Superb insights into professional new habbits.

This is by far some of the best information I could have ever hopes to learn and explore. Blair seems to draw from a place where he, himself understood that positioning was and is key - and then establishes part of that positioning with this manifesto. The knowledge and information contained within Blair's manifesto left me with multiple "ah-ha!" moments, but also reinforced and helped ground my worried mind on choices I'd made regarding principles in his manifesto that I didn't know were the right choice for me all along.

I'd enormously recommend this book in e-book or physical copy to any creative professional looking to elevate their business and themselves with positioning and mindset. If you take anything away these invaluable writings, I'd say that Blair's outlook on how we need to act regarding positioning as creative professionals is well worth the price. Everything else in the manifesto is beyond extra, and superb information that's well read, and delivered clearly and concisely - resulting in very easy to comprehend and reference again.

The Sales Bible

Before being recommended this book by Youtuber Chris Do, I always knew there was a better way to sell. Fast forward 2 months and I’ve already closed two clients equaling $8000. A gem, a goldmine, and all the answers you are looking for await in this book.

strong & concise 👌

Very strong reasoning and logic behind the approach described in this book.

I have found using the analogies and mental models discribed in this manifesto, can really help in convincing colleagues and team members, to adopt a premium service approach to creative services.

Brave but logical

This book was recommended by my employer and I can understand why. Some brave ideas but they actually make sense. Creative agencies have long been bad at making money and rely too much on trying to sell a big idea or giving away expertise.
Would be great to have some more practical examples and guidance bit overall its a good book.

Painfully but delightfully honest.

As a young entrepreneur, this book helped put into context some of tools I've always had in my arsenal to help grow my business but that I rarely used because of the fear of rejection. I proclaim that from here onwards I will begin to implement these proclamations day by day and make use of the power that comes with the confidence in my expertise and my ability to provide value to all my clients.

Great insights!

This book has very good points on how to position your business and expertise against the marketplace as a high value consultancy. It is leaning towards the creatives, but having that insight into the industry just makes it all the more fascinating.

Very well written and concisely written rules to go by especially in the selling process. There were trinkets of example scenarios of how he would engage with the client. I only wish more of that was infused, but I think that was done purposefully in order for the reader to think for themselves.

Overall, I enjoyed the listen and I will be seeking out more of Blair's work as I found great value on his insights.
