Maybe it was a grandparent, or a teacher, or a colleague. Someone older, patient, and wise who understood you when you were young and searching, helped you see the world as a more profound place, gave you sound advice to help you make your way through it. For Mitch Albom that person was Morrie Schwartz, his college professor from nearly 20 years ago. Wouldn't you like to see that person again, ask the bigger questions that still haunt you, receive wisdom the way you once did when you were younger? Mitch Albom had that second chance.

How did Fidel Castro fool the CIA for a generation? Why did Neville Chamberlain think he could trust Adolf Hitler? Why are campus sexual assaults on the rise? Do television sitcoms teach us something about the way we relate to each other that isn't true? While tackling these questions, Malcolm Gladwell was not solely writing a book for the page. He was also producing for the ear. In the audiobook version of Talking to Strangers, you’ll hear the voices of people he interviewed - scientists, criminologists, military psychologists.
あらすじ・解説
In this enchanting sequel to the number one best seller The Five People You Meet in Heaven, Mitch Albom tells the story of Eddie’s heavenly reunion with Annie - the little girl he saved on Earth - in an unforgettable novel of how our lives and losses intersect.
Fifteen years ago, in Mitch Albom’s beloved novel, The Five People You Meet in Heaven, the world fell in love with Eddie, a grizzled war veteran turned amusement park mechanic who died saving the life of a young girl named Annie. Eddie’s journey to heaven taught him that every life matters. Now, in this magical sequel, Mitch Albom reveals Annie’s story.
The accident that killed Eddie left an indelible mark on Annie. It took her left hand, which needed to be surgically reattached. Injured, scarred, and unable to remember why, Annie’s life is forever changed by a guilt-ravaged mother who whisks her away from the world she knew. Bullied by her peers and haunted by something she cannot recall, Annie struggles to find acceptance as she grows. When, as a young woman, she reconnects with Paulo, her childhood love, she believes she has finally found happiness.
As the novel opens, Annie is marrying Paulo. But when her wedding night ends in an unimaginable accident, Annie finds herself on her own heavenly journey - and an inevitable reunion with Eddie, one of the five people who will show her how her life mattered in ways she could not have fathomed.
Poignant and beautiful, filled with unexpected twists, The Next Person You Meet in Heaven reminds us that not only does every life matter, but that every ending is also a beginning - we only need to open our eyes to see it.

A journey of discovery. forgiveness and the human spirit.
Although I cried through most of this story, I really did enjoy it. Once again Albom gives us a peek into what some may see and others hope is the afterlife. A journey of remembrance and forgiveness. this story will cause many to reflect on their own life journey and to realize the true meaning of each action and reaction they’ve experienced. I 100% recommend this story and all the others by the same author.

A beautiful turn of events
I have read The Five People you Meet in Heaven at least 50 times since I was 12 years old. In those ten years I have always allowed my ragged, highlighted, written in, slightly torn hard copy get passed along to many colleagues, friends and family members. I have lived by the quote "all endings are actually beginnings" to help me through the happy times and the difficult times. I was worried that the sequel could not live up to my favorite book but had all the faith in the world in Mitch Albom. The Next Person you Meet in Heaven is a beautiful story which exceed d my expectations. I look forward to rereading it when my hard copy comes in.

WOW, A SEQUEL THAT SHINES
The first book I read for personal enjoyment in college was the five people you meet in heaven and ever since I have devoured every Mitch Albom book the day I get it in my audible library. He knows how to reveal the human spirit without all the extra fluff and extra icing that ruin the cake.

First time as audio reader to my favourite writer
The story is highly recommended just like all of Mitch Albom's books. I hesitated, however, to the idea of an audio book. I prefer reading but as a trial, I found that even for non-native English speakers, the narration is clear enough to be followed.
