If you're expecting Basil Rathbone or Jeremy Brett, don't - expect instead Conan Doyle's beloved prose in the aural equivalent of a smooth merlot. These stories capture the spirit of the age, a time when people rested for months after a nasty emotional shock, of which there are plenty here.
