あらすじ・解説

A new world of magic and violence. One crazy starting bonus. Major downside: no thumbs!

Carl was a regular construction foreman. Not the worst, not the best, and definitely not the thinnest. Even so, he didn't deserve that heart attack! He really didn't deserve being reborn into a magic-filled, dog-eat-dog world as a dragon.

To be fair, it’s nice to be at the top of the food chain. Now Carl just needs to learn how magic works, which monsters are safe to eat, and why his hoard is so important to him. Dealing with everything changing is hard enough, but he has enemy dragons incoming, hostile environments, and foes constantly trying to get bragging rights by taking down a dragon.

At the end of the day, Carl needs to learn how to build a life worth living in a world where might makes right.

An excellent and interesti take on base building.

This book had me imagining what it would be like to be a dragon roving rocky mountains and clouded skies in search of might and power. It was a blast to watch Carl rise from the ashes of his death in a shadowy new form!

Generic and boring with poor narration.

it's not objectionable but it's definitely not worth a credit and I'll have completely forgotten I've even listened to it as soon as I hit the submit button.

Dragons, Monsters, & Town Building!

Great and refreshing new LitRPG Series! As in the title, it has Dragons, Monsters, and Town Building! Great character development too! I want more dragons! 🐉

A new point of view.

I have seen a lot of books where they work with dragons, ride dragons, have a dragon familiar, but this is the first one I read where the main character was a dragon. At least as a RPG game book. It was a very interesting tale. And I definitely think it is one I can recommend to all of the people who asked me for books of this genre that they can share with their children.

Curriculum for future Dungeon Overlords

The premise seems weird "real world guy dies - get reborn as a dragon in a game world".

I have no idea how something that bonkers should work, but it does.

If you like RPGs, gaming, Dungeon Keeper, check it out.

It really is great fun following the main character in his new life as a dragon. The struggle to maintain humanity in a dragon body, understanding the world etc.

The story has a bunch of original monsters and critters, the main minions being absolutely fantastic.

No LitRPG or super geek experience needed. Voice acting is great.

Excellent!

This book! I LOVED everything about it! The story's very well-written. It's also action-packed, witty, funny, clever, and heartfelt. The characters were all interesting and lovable! I adored the Talpi.

Steve Campbell did it again! His narration was simply outstanding! It definitely made my listening experience truly enjoyable.

Highly recommended!

Nice take on the dungeon genre

I really enjoyed how we were given what is basically a dungeon story, in the form of a regular adventure one.

The non-human MC is just a bonus.

Narration was really good as well.

I hear that books 2 and 3 are already completed.

All hail dragon But we're not his minions

This is a good minion story I've created a coalition different creatures And letting them have the power to build what they need while it's need while exacting obedience from their dragon and and setting up a story that should become very interesting in this series

Meeeh, not bad, but not great either

So my biggest gripe with the story is that it randomly becomes another base builder am I the only one who just can't seem to understand the point of a base? Your a motherfucking dragon currently it seems that the only reason our MC is touchable is that he is basicly a infant. I can see quite the big power creep incoming which might become a problem for the author.

Also for some unknown reason he wants underlings? Fine free work force but what really pissed me the fuck of was the "max" population in the basebuilding mechanic. Like what? The all knowing system doesn't lett 50more souls to sleep somewhere remotely the same area? It's weird and confusing I got so pissed of that I RQ right then and there. I just can't take another basebuilding where it isn't explained at all. Why it needs to be done. Like azarinth healer basicly handles it like a fucking CHAMP, while every other litrpg that I like seems to have some reason behind it. But here it's even a detriment to have a base set up considering there will be a war!!!

A great tale from a former bard

This is a wonderful tale with a ton of personality.
The main character and his companions all have their own personal agendas and the author isn't afraid of letting allies clash and hash things out, making them feel real.
The story is engaging and draws you in, making you root for the good guys and boo the bad guys...
And the world around the story is elaborate with plenty of things going on outside of the MCs control and sight, yet we see how things change while he is engaged elsewhere, instead of people waiting for him to return to do anything.

Steve is amazing and how his vocal cords aren't shredded after this I don't understand. The variety of voices the characters get is amazing and if the writing didn't make you feel, his performance will bring tears to your eyes, both of sadness and joy

surprisingly good, some new ideas

Not an over-the-top power fantasy, but a more measured re-incarnation (light) lit-rpg with some dungeon building elements.

Main character used to be a middle age-ish construction foremen, giving this a more grounded, practical based view on the re-incarnation genre.

I really enjoyed that, an MC that uses experiences from his working life (rather than a VR or gaming background).

The world building is also decent, with none-standard setting, races, magic and abilities.

The only problems I had were some small omitted details of how some systems worked or if they were unique to the main character (e.g. do rivals have the same map functionality, range and detail of telepathy) and some cases I felt the MC forgot to used some of his abilities.

DRRRRAGON~

It was a really fun listen!
I liked the main character that had to find his bearing in a new world and with a new form.
The fights were good, the development was good, and the narrations was also really good!

Really good

Not a long review but I really enjoyed it, very different to most litrpg’s being that the mc is a dragon and humans aren’t really a thing. Also loved the bloopers at the end haven’t seen this before but couldn’t stop laughing.
