Susan, a beautiful daughter to a preacher from California, begins to think she will never find a suitable husband. The men in her town are either all taken or are not of the church. While at a store, she reads a magazine advertisement from a man in California, Gabriel, seeking a "mail order bride". Feeling led by God, she begins a correspondence with this man.
