あらすじ・解説

Now Lee is free from the malevolent ghost of Morris Hawke, his clairvoyant gifts are expanding fast. Too fast for comfort, and he and Gideon find themselves wrestling with his unsettling capacity to see the future. In some ways this new power is wonderful, and Lee finds himself a local hero after predicting a flood.

But there's one aspect he can't bear, and that's the blind spot he sees when he thinks about the wedding plans he and Gideon have started to make. It's as if this event, which he wants more than life, simply isn't going to happen. He's troubled and stressed out, and Gideon decides to intervene, whisking him off to an isolated creekside cabin in the mysterious Cornish ria country. All is peaceful there, and the clamour in Lee's head subsides. It's time for companionship, peace, good food, and plenty of sex....

Then a young man wanders out of the woods and turns their blissed-out retreat into chaos. Kitto is harmless - a charming drifter, very handsome. To Gideon he's just a kid, flesh and blood and a bit of a nuisance. But Lee reacts with horror. Since when can Gideon - Lee's rock, his connection to the real world and sanity - see ghosts?

Mysterious midsummer is rising in the deep green Cornish countryside, and as the village gears up for the eerie Golowan festival, Lee and Gideon face their toughest case yet: a battle between the real and spirit worlds that threatens to tear their own apart.

One of my favorites of this series.

Kitto by Harper Fox has to be my favorite book of the series. Gideon and Lee prepares for their wedding and while shopping for their rings they eecape some disastrous event. Of course this sets off another chain of events and Lee and Gideon has had enough and escapes into the country. But as Harper Fox would have it, these two men can't hide from their duties as cop and clairvoyant, and as the Summer Solstice approaches they find themselves facing some new and unexpected challenges from the mysterious boy Kitto appearing who seems to share the same gifts as Lee, but we also see Gideon showing some possible abilities as well.

I do enjoy these books, but I slightly get annoyed that Gideon, who seems to be new to the psychic world, seems to be the most comfortable with all this supernatural stuff happening, and then you have Lee, who is the experienced clairvoyant, is constantly acting like he is new to this and for me that just seems to throw me off from enjoying these books more. The book seemed to have a great pacing to it, and I definitely loved the mystery and story line in this book, but the ending just seemed rushed and chaotic and just emotionally barren. So some of Harper Fox's writing leaves me scratching my head at times, but I also enjoy the stories and mysteries as well.

The Ghost and Gideon

This audible is a bit hard to review due to most you donot understand till near the end when the pieces start to fall into place. Kitto is a young man who ran away from home and only came back after hearing his brother was in dire threat of turning his kids over to his father and did not want to happen. Now I really did not understand why he ran away I personally did not hear the reason. On returning home his fathers throws him into a basement and locks him. So the person Gideon and Lee saw and spoke to was his spirt looking for help so he be found before he died alone and no one know of his return or death. The interesting item in this book was Gideon who never believed in a person being able to sense a deceived person or sense the person in the area of his or her death. Yes over the time Lee and Gideon been together Gideon had seen many things but never believed he was gifted himself and in this audible he learns the hard way and almost looses Lee.

Unsure but still Enjoyed

There was something about this one that I can’t quite yet put my finger on, something that I did not enjoy. The pacing was dry but well thought out. The plot was simple but explored a crucial part of a relationship well. It was read fairly well, with some of the gruff voices blending when in quick succession. Everything was... well and good.

This authors use of language and pacing is one thing I enjoy. It being a short format book, cutting of the fat for the important things is crucial. And while that does take away from the depth of it being a mystery with the outcomes often being obvious or completely out of left field, there is still an enjoyable journey of a relationship being paved.

These books have been a pleasant experience and I am thrilled to continue, and in the end of things turn back around and relisten.

Happy Endings

Talk about happy endings! I just noticed how this author spins some very dark themes and tales into lovely down to earth HEAs even without the mystical. I absolutely adore these two guys. Both story and narrator do a fabulous job making reader really feel in a short amount of time.

Good story

Some really great emotional moments in this installment of the series. Gid and Lee grow as a couple and learn how to communicate better while solving a mystery. Love this series, downloading next one ASAP.

Interesting, could have played more with story

I loved this story but think they could have explored a few relationships more. I would have liked seeing what would have happened if one of the main characters explored an 'one time encounter' with Kitto.

Best of the series so far

Might be good to read the books in order, but if that’s not your kink, this is a solid installment. Lee and Gideon getting on with their lives by going on a busman’s holiday. Magical realism, mystery, and sexy romance in one. Good triumphing over evil in all of those. Recommended!

Steam: med-low. Explicit M/M sex on page but less often than in the previous installment

Narration: clearer & more even than previous one, aka normal.

A few errors on this one....

Enjoying the way Tim Gilbert is voicing Gideon and Lee, but there were some noticeable errors in this one which should surely have been picked up before release. The usual small character swap of voices I can understand but Lorna Kemp, the little girl abducted in Once Upon A Haunted Moor, was called LAURA Kemp for practically the whole of this audio AND why did Ray Tregear's voice change after Gideon and Lee's wedding?? He went from stoned and growly to high pitched and weird??
