These dramatized editions have all been stellar but the cast really out did themselves on this one. The sound effects and score were also perfect. It really brought the wizarding world to life.

Spectacular performance

I liked the story and the sound effects.
Only the con I felt was that the Harry Potter’s voice narrator. Started with emotional shouts and ended with emotional shouts, which were quite annoying to keep listening to.

Great

I went into it thinking I’d constantly compare everything to the movies .. especially because with books 1 to 4, that’s exactly what I did. Back then, every scene just played out like the films in my head.

But this time, something changed. At some point, it just clicked, and I stopped comparing altogether. The characters weren’t the movie versions anymore, they became the voices from the audiobook. And now it’s kind of stuck that way. Even when I think about Harry Potter or read anything related to it, I hear these voices instead of the actors from the films. I didn’t expect that to happen, but I actually love it.

The voice actor for Harry was a big part of that. The way he delivers the lines, the small pauses, the emotions. it all feels really natural and makes the character feel more real.

Sirius and Bellatrix were also standouts. Sirius had that mix of warmth and intensity, and Bellatrix was just perfectly chaotic. Even Umbridge was memorable, she was so irritating that it actually made the performance impressive.

The only issue I had was that sometimes the voices sounded a bit too similar. I did get confused between Ginny and Hermione here and there, and a few times Ron and Harry blended together a bit. It didn’t happen too often, but enough to notice.

Overall though, I really enjoyed it. It didn’t feel like I was just revisiting the same story again but it felt like experiencing it in a completely new way.
