Or can you see the potential for a more stimulating future as a result of having so much extra time? Many of us have been raised on the traditional notion of a three-stage approach to our working lives: education, followed by work and then retirement. But this well-established pathway is already beginning to collapse.

For decades, the medical community has looked to a variety of reasons for why we age, and the consensus is that no-one dies of old age; they die of age-related diseases. That's because ageing is not a disease - it is inevitable. But what if everything you think you know about ageing is wrong? What if ageing is a disease? And that disease is curable. In Lifespan, Dr David Sinclair, one of the world’s foremost authorities on genetics and ageing, argues just that.

Factfulness: The stress-reducing habit of carrying only opinions for which you have strong supporting facts. When asked simple questions about global trends - why the world's population is increasing; how many young women go to school; how many of us live in poverty - we systematically get the answers wrong. So wrong that a chimpanzee choosing answers at random will consistently outguess journalists, Nobel laureates, and investment bankers.

What Bolton saw astonished him: a president for whom getting reelected was the only thing that mattered, even if it meant endangering or weakening the nation.

Sleep is one of the most important but least understood aspects of our life, wellness, and longevity. Until very recently, science had no answer to the question of why we sleep, or what good it served, or why we suffer such devastating health consequences when we don't sleep. Compared to the other basic drives in life - eating, drinking, and reproducing - the purpose of sleep remained elusive.

あらすじ・解説
The best-selling author of Head Strong and The Bulletproof Diet answers the question 'how do I kick more ass?' - providing proven techniques for becoming happier, healthier and smarter, culled from the wisdom and insight of world-class thought leaders and mavericks of science and business.
When Dave Asprey started his Bulletproof Radio podcast more than five years ago, he sought out thought leaders and influencers in an array of disciplines, from biochemists to business titans to mediation masters. These folks were some of the top performing humans in the world, people who had changed their areas of study or even pioneered entirely new fields. Dave wanted to know: What did they have in common? What mattered most to them? What makes them so successful at what they do - and what makes them happiest? And so, at the end of each interview, Dave began asking the same question: 'What are your top three recommendations for people who want to kick more ass?'
Combing through the recordings, looking for patterns and common threads, he found that the wisdom gleaned from these highly successful people can be distilled into three main categories: body, mind, and spirit. Game Changers is the culmination of Dave’s years-long statistical analysis of these conversations, offering 36 science-backed, high-performance 'laws' that are a virtual playbook for how to become not only more successful but also happier and healthier.
Each chapter of Game Changers is structured around one of these laws. Dave combines anecdotes from game changers like Daniel Amen, David Perlmutter, Arianna Huffington, Dan Harris and Tim Ferris with his own research and practical advice that listeners can put into action immediately. From practising gratitude and mindfulness to prioritising social connections and sex, taming fear and anxiety to optimising nutrition and movement, Dave brings together the wisdom of today’s game changers to help everyone optimise their lives.

I read his bulletproof diet before this one, and this book is another continuation of self development masterpiece that anyone should listen or read. narrator's voice was very soothing at the same time memorable so that I felt as if I am meditating while listening. I would continue to read his headstrong or superhuman after this. Dave Asprey is the guy who writes and act upon his rules and active in social media presence which helps me to feel what it is like being game changers or high performansers.

Practical and cutting-edge
The advice given is practical, useful and manageable. The fact that this book represents analysis from hundreds of hours of interviews of successful and happy people means that the most pertinent advice is clear and is not just the opinion of Dave Asprey; much as he is incredibly knowledgeable! The narration is well-delivered, it’s easy to forget that the narrator is not the original author. I had implemented a few of these techniques and strategies into my life over the past few years. For everything I’m already doing, I now have a deeper understanding and I have 5-10 extra techniques which I am putting in to action. That’s excellent value for one book. One important point to make is that Asprey is not at all prescriptive with his advice. It all comes with a “This is what the Game Changers of the world are doing, but it’s up to you.” This low-pressure delivery made me more inclined to explore the strategies mentioned, as opposed to feeling overwhelmed with all the things I “should” be doing. Great book.

The sort of brillinat content l expect from Dave
Content was brilliant, if you listen to his podcasts you will have heard quite a bit of it before, but its presented well and is very inspiring. The only downside is the narration, Dave narrates small segments and does so with energy and vibe, but the rest is monotone and robotic, this is a real shame and distracts from the quality of the material. A dull narrator going through the motions.

Amazing
Full of tips and knowledge from a variety of inspiring people. I really appreciated the approach taken by the author who acknowledge throughout the book that there is no ‘one size fits all’ approach to becoming a game changer, instead he has compiled statistically significant factors taken from data he has accumulated from interviews that can help a person live their best and most fulfilled life. The book is content rich - I have pages and pages of notes of things I would like to try implementing in my own life. I found both the author and the professional narrator to be engaging.

Best parenting book ever!
This book teaches you how to do things that have immediate results. I started listening to it and realized this is what my kids need to know, what I needed to know when I was a kid (minus the sex stuff of course which I found extremely enlightening). Weasel words are now pointed out to each family member if they use them. I love how Dave highlights the greats in his life and shares there knowledge. It all starts from the start there is no boring start waiting to get into it. I will re listen to this and take notes. it is like his podcasts condensed into one book. Aaaaamazing!!!!! Value value value!!!! Thank you so much Dave, out of everyone I follow and listen to you are the most impactful for me and my family and anyone else who will listen to me that want better health and mental clarity.

Why do authors choose to outsource their narrating?! 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
I was loving this book during the introduction, Dave did an awesome job creating interest in the content and loved hearing the passion in his voice that can only come from sharing a story you’ve lived first hand. And then all that excitement to hear his material went away in the blink of an eye when he made the disastrous decision to outsource the narration of the book beyond the intro to a “professional narrator” who yes anunciated his words perfectly and was very well spoken but was also as boring at batsh*t to listen to, to the point where I was forced to turn it off and returned the book because I just have no interest in spending hours listening to someone read off a page. Why it was oursourced is irrelevant but Dave would have served his readers far greater if he’d read it himself, because it’s put me off buying any of his audible books now which are probably jam packed with amazing content. I’ll likely buy the physical version of this book but wouldn’t recommend the audible version unless you’re looking for a cure for insomnia.

Broad general statements
The narration is good, but I found it jumped around a bit and the more I researched each of his points I realized how much he glossed over or negative sides he didn't cover etc... This is fine as space is limited, but it just seems more sweeping and generalized than most books in this field.

Good book, misleading narrative
Great ideas from the author, however note that he isn't the main narrator. 90% of this book is read by another person. This annoyed me as authors are normally better versed on their subject with more passion.

Another level of wisdom from Dave
This one takes you a little further down the rabbit hole. Again a sound balance of heaps of technical knowledge and some simple strategic actions you can take to seriously lift your game. Magic comes when you actually take the time to do this stuff instead of just reading nodding your head and saying yeah, that makes sense or yeah I can tell my clients that.

If you only buy one book this year. This is it
Phenomenal iteration of a merge of over 500 podcasts with the best in the business, lifestyle, health and fitness, wellness and bio hacking. I am a fan of Dave Asprey, so slightly biased, but I’ve now gifted this book to my closest friends and family as soon as I finished the book. An amazing read. An Encyclopaedia for life. Regards Christopher Chappell.
