It is said that the practice of dream yoga deepens our awareness during all our experience: the dreams of the night; the dream-like experience of the day; and the bardo experiences after death. Indeed, the practice of dream yoga is a powerful tool of awakening, used for hundreds of years by the great masters of the Tibetan traditions. Unlike in the Western psychological approach to dreams, the ultimate goal of Tibetan dream yoga is the recognition of the nature of mind or enlightenment itself.

For modern science, the transitional states of consciousness lie at the forefront of research in many fields. For a Buddhist practitioner, these same states present crucial opportunities to explore and transform consciousness itself. This book is the account of a historic dialogue between leading Western scientists and the Dalai Lama of Tibet. Revolving around three key moments of consciousness - sleep, dreams, and death - the conversations recorded here are both engrossing and highly listenable.

Treasured by Buddhists of all traditions, The Way of the Bodhisattva (Bodhicharyavatara) is a guide to cultivating the mind of enlightenment and to generating the qualities of love, compassion, generosity, and patience. This text has been studied, practiced, and expounded upon in an unbroken tradition for centuries, first in India, and later in Tibet. Presented in the form of a personal meditation in verse, it outlines the path of the Bodhisattvas - those who renounce the peace of individual enlightenment and vow to work for the liberation of all beings.

Progressive Stages of Meditation on Emptiness is a series of meditation practices on Emptiness, a particular aspect of the Buddha's teachings. The idea is that by beginning with one's first rather coarse commonsense understanding, one progresses through increasingly subtle and more refined stages until one arrives at complete and perfect understanding. Each stage in the process prepares the mind for the next in so far as each step is fully integrated into one's understanding through the meditation process.
あらすじ・解説
Some of the greatest of life’s adventures can happen while you’re sound asleep. That’s the promise of lucid dreaming, which is the ability to alter your own dream reality any way you like simply by being aware of the fact that you’re dreaming while you’re in the midst of a dream. There is a range of techniques anyone can learn to become a lucid dreamer - and this audiobook provides all the instruction you need to get started. But B. Alan Wallace also shows how to take the experience of lucid dreaming beyond entertainment to use it to heighten creativity, to solve problems, and to increase self-knowledge. He then goes a step further: moving on to the methods of Tibetan Buddhist dream yoga for using your lucid dreams to attain the profoundest kind of insight.

Great techniques and background
This book had some great ideas that I was able to apply on my first nights sleep after listening to a few chapters. the end of the book brings into light some philosophical considerations and helped me think through some ideas I have about the metaphysical nature of some dreams. I also recommend the app Awoken which asks you throughout the day "Are you dreaming." It's a great reminder. I usually try to use the technique of asking myself this when I see my hands but after reading this book have been trying to also ask when I walk through a door.

Very useful even if it just to get a better sleep
This book is a description of the process to meditation and how to apply it to dreaming. I found the instructions clear the author gets to the point very quickly. Even if you are not going to go through the whole program, I found much of the advice interesting and applicable better sleep in general.
This book will potentially help anyone who has trouble falling off to sleep or trouble with stress and sleep. I would definitely give it a try.

Fundamental
I believe the last chapter of this book should be listened to first as it eloquently and poignantly provides a fundamental basis for the subject matter of the book. Thank you B. Alan Wallace for this brilliant Buddhist teaching as it relates to lucid dreaming, dream yoga, and waking life.

Good for history - not so good for hands-on
Interesting book, but it seems more concerned with providing a polemic for the validity of lucid dreaming, dream yoga, and Buddhist ideas about rebirth, etc., than it does with providing a how-to manual for Lucid dreaming.

Unfortunately unlistenable
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Love B. Alan Wallace. He's a great dharma teacher. Why he didn't dictate his own book I don't know, but the narrator chosen absolutely doesn't get it. So sad I bought this. Can't get a refund cause I don't have a membership.
Has Dreaming Yourself Awake turned you off from other books in this genre?
Will be very cautious in the future.
What didn’t you like about Tom Pile’s performance?
Seems quite divorced from the content of what he's reading.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
Will get it as a Kindle.
Any additional comments?
Whatever the conflict was, it's a sad mistake to not have Mr. Wallace read his own book.

Profoundly insightful and practical knowledge.
I’ve read many books on enlightenment and this book, though seemingly about lucid dreaming, is a wonderful humble introduction to cultivating curiosity and enthusiasm for ones journey of exploring the nature of being. Well done💚🙏

Imperial data on the nature of reality?
Dream yoga is about as close as you can get to gaining your own imperical data on the nature of reality. The Buddha invited us to put his discoveries to our own tests. This is just one of the ways...but way that can be full of adventure. Alan Wallace presents this material in terms that are both intriguing and rational. If you believe science has sounded the death knell on spirituality than I urge you to listen to the very end.

Great for mind to stimulate lucid dreaming
I have read book like Charlie Morley. He also is in mindfulness and Buddha. He did brilliant job to explain it to modern people however in this audio book I felt not engaged. The voice was not easy to listen to. Great stuff for those who are really into Shamanism. Listened through everything. To get some nuggets and insight. Wouldn't listen it for second time.

A really interesting book on dream lucidity
I have listened to this book a couple of times now, and I have found it to be quite insightful. I have went to sleep while listening to this book and find that I have been hearing it in my sleep and found that I am able to comprehend what I’m hearing while I’m sleeping and find it both inspiring and interesting. For people interested in experimental psychology or lucid dreaming then I would recommend this book.

Difficult to listen
B Alan Wallace is an important author and this is an essential book on the topic but the narrator (not Wallace) makes listening difficult. The narration is slow and rather mechanical, with some serious over-emphasis of certain words as compensation for the expressionless tone.
