Neuroscience-proven guidelines to think, act, and become smarter ASAP. It’s not what you know, it’s how you think. Practical Intelligence is not a common "think smarter" book. No, it starts from biological bases of analytical thinking, and how we can re-program ourselves for deep insight. This audiobook provides real, actionable tool after tool, because smart thinking is all about how, and not why or what. The bottom line is that you’ll be able to apply this audiobook’s thinking models immediately, until they become habit.

Great for introverts!
If you are an introvert, this is a book for you, but as an extroverted introvert person who has gone through a long journey to lean more toward extrovertnesness, 70% of these strategies were redundant for me. The first few chapters of the book offers nothing I personally haven’t learned from Dale Carnegie books. However, the last phase of the book about defensive and offensive strategies were eye opening concepts and I really enjoy listening to them over and over fine tuning my approach dealing with certain situations. Overall a great beginners book, I would’ve given 5 stars if the book was less generalized and more focused with more real life examples.

Decent information, not the best narration.
This book is just okay. There is some useful and good information but also some quirky advice and silliness, not funny silliness more like nonsense.

Packed with fascinating info
This book is absolutely worth the read, and almost certainly warrants a 2nd or 3rd read as well, as concentration of useful information is so high, there’s no way you could catch it all in one go.
There’s no forced life success stories, subtle religious undertones, or pointless red herrings with way too much detail.
There was not a single moment in this book where I felt it was filler. I’ve seen reviews on similar books with reviews that claim they’re “straight to the point” and “waffle free”, but trust me.
It’s well structured, examples of use are given for nearly everything covered, and the humour is not forced. This of course is complimented by how well it’s read.
My most useful takeaway is the conversation resume, but I also have a whole notes file of quotes that I found motivating or just clicked with me as well.
If you have to pick a single book on this topic, for goodness sake choose this one.

You may already be aware of most of the points
Great as reminder of strategies to use during difficult conversations. The narrators descriptions and explainations were great and helped me mentally place myself in the scenarios and remember those I've encountered. Will listen again. Would buy this on offer rather than full price, unless you have no prior knowledge. It does feel like a longer read than it is ina few places.

Fantastic start
I feel that the first few chapters were extremely helpful but after the chapter explaining active listening and how to give proper compliments I think the direction of the book kind of lost its way, but there are a lot of helpful things in the beginning chapters I will take away from this so if you are having trouble leading or starting conversations I would recommend having a listen

Disappointing
I wasn't thrilled about this book. I don't believe there is ever a need to swear just to make an impact. I also don't think any kind of deception should be used either. I did get some tips though so not totally a waste but it did not meet my expectations at all

not well thought through
long winded and not much substance.
it was like the author had taken several ideas from other books and joined them into this one book without understanding the concept behind the points he was making.
I didn't get anything from this book and would not recommend.

Some great tips
This was a great listen with some great tips, bus I will probably only takeaway about 40% of the content. that doesn't mean it wasn't more than 50% useful, that's 40% more knowledge than what I had originally.
An easy listen, usefully laid out knowledge, definitely worthwhile.
