This was a fun and pretty creepy start to the Goosebumps series. The atmosphere really stood out, it had that eerie feeling that keeps you hooked and spooked. It’s simple but effective, and easy to get through in one sitting.
The ending leans into a cliffhanger, which fits the tone of the story even if it wasn’t too surprising. I also didn’t expect to feel so bad for the dog, that part stuck with me the most.
Overall, a solid and spooky read. Not perfect, but definitely enjoyable for a quick dose of creepy nostalgia.
