あらすじ・解説

Life can be sweet. Our relationships with friends, spouses, colleagues, and family members can be wonderfully rewarding. They can also bring heartache, frustration, anxiety, and anger. We all know the difference between times when we feel open, generous, and at ease with people versus times when we are guarded, defensive, and on edge. Why do we get trapped in negative emotions when it's clear that life is so much fuller and richer when we are free of them?

Bonds That Make Us Free is a groundbreaking book that suggests the remedy for our troubling emotions by addressing their root causes. You'll learn how, in ways we scarcely suspect, we are responsible for feelings like anger, envy, and insecurity that we have blamed on others. (How many times have you said, "You're making me mad!")

Even though we fear to admit this, it is good news. If we produce these emotions, it falls within our power to stop them. But we have to understand our part in them far better than we do, and that is what this remarkable book teaches. Because the key is seeing truthfully, the book itself is therapeutic. As you listen and identify with the many true stories of people who have seen a transformation in their lives, you will find yourself reflecting with fresh honesty upon your relationships. This will bond you to others in love and respect and lift you out of the negative thoughts and feelings that have held you captive. You will feel your heart changing even as you listen.

"It would not be accurate to describe this book as supplying the truths upon which we must build our lives," writes author C. Terry Warner. "Instead it shows how we can put ourselves in that receptive, honest, and discerning condition that will enable us, any of us, to find these truths on our own."

Finding these truths is the key to healing our relationships and coming to ourselves, and Bonds That Make Us Free starts us on that great journey.

The most powerful and influential book...

I have ever read, short of scriptures. The principles shared by Terry Warner in this book can truly free anyone who strives to apply them in their lives from emotional bondage. What harm is there in feelings like jealousy, anger, revenge, insecurity and many others? They result in us giving others control over our own happiness. This book helps the reader understand this and other important principles and shows the reader a way out of the bondage caused by these and other negative actions and emotions. It has changed my life and am confident it can do the same for others.

Helped save our marriage.

Our marriage of 10 years was strained due to a number of circumstances. My wife read this book at a friend's recommendation. Without doing any thing special we regained harmony. 2 years later, and I finally listened to it. I'll be honest, it took some effort to get through the first few chapters, but I'm so glad I did. It's not so much learning new ideas to implement as it was finally seeing myself clearly.

The most Important Book in My Audible Library

Bonds That Make Us Free stands head and shoulders above any other book in my library save it be my core book of scripture upon which I rely daily. It is a book I hope to return to each year, preferably towards the beginning of the year as it helps me stay on track and set a positive intention for my relationships the whole year through. It's the type of book I want to share with everyone because did the profound truths it has spoken to my soul. I hope many will experience this book and take the message to heart as it has truth to heal. I am so grateful for the wisdom the author gained through experienceand research and which he shares by stories in such an effective way.

A life-changing new perspective on relationships!

The author is brilliant, and has pondered deeply on the meanings and functions of personal relationships. His principles if applied give us the power to transform all of our relationships into vehicles for mutual growth. These concepts would change our hearts and change the world!

Inspiring!

This book is unlike any I have ever read (or heard) in that the examples really hit home and make you think of how you handle situations and then how you can handle them better. I loved the analogy of the weed only being killed by getting to it's deep recesses. Just pulling up what we see is not effective. It's time to get to the very root causes of my self-deception and grow into the man I'm meant to become.

Skeptical

I was skeptical going into this but at the end I felt I was a changed person. The information within can help you to realize that you CAN change and gives you practical tools and means to conduct and maintain that change. One of the few Audiobooks that I have bought and kept and will listen to again and again

I'm changing my life by changing my heart.

imagine a selfhelp book that were more focused on "why" rather than "how". that is this book, and its revolutionary, and personally life changing if applied. I highly recommend.

absolutely excellent

This is an absolutely excellent resource for anyone that's ready to take complete responsibility for their lives and emotions and relationships. I may have not been completely ready for this content, but with time and with patience I became ready slowly and was able to really digest this book. It is terribly uncomfortable, but it speaks the truth. I am going to get busy with complete and total forgiveness, even with those that have offended, abused, that dramatically affected me. I'm going to assume responsibility for my own life maybe for the first time. I appreciate The bravery of the author's, I hope to become brave myself.

The truth spoken in love.

A beautiful reading of this powerful account of the dreadful bondage of living a lie, and how life doesn't have to be this way. May not be what you think you want to hear at first, but if you open your heart, and listen to the stories... Who knows what you might discover?

A generous and heartfelt life changing book

This is the material the world needs to fix itself. The content is truth, it is liberating and it will create a better life for anyone who truly encounters and embraces it. The good news is how accessible that place actually due to the skill and care with which C Terry Warner has put into it. Congratulations on your work and the difference you are making in the world.
