概要

Salt Creek is an anthology horror podcast where each episode is a self-contained story set in and around the salt-encrusted waterways of the American Great Plains. Host Luna guides listeners through eerie tales of forgotten things that surface in the briny shallows—a Polaroid that captures something before it moves, a bridge that wasn't there the day before, a dead tree that hums at dusk. These are quiet, slow-burn horrors rooted in the landscape: the loneliness of a salt flat at twilight, the strange reflections in mineral-stained water, the way a creek can carry memories it shouldn't. Every episode stands alone, but together they form a mosaic of dread tied to the salt-crusted banks and the rural communities that live beside them. Luna's voice, a hushed and intimate whisper, draws you into each story as if she were sitting beside you at the creek's edge, showing you a Polaroid you wish you hadn't seen. The common thread is place—the specific, uncanny geography of Salt Creek and the things that happen when the light goes wrong. No episodes are connected by plot or character, only by tone and setting. The horror is atmospheric, folk-inflected, and grounded in the mundane turned strange: a lost camera, a drowned sound, a bridge that leads somewhere else. Step into the salt. The water is shallow, but the dark runs deep.

  • The Night the Bell Rang at Holy Cross — Fexingo Horror
    2026/05/04
Luna spends a humid October evening at the abandoned Holy Cross Church outside Elkhart, Kansas, where a rusted bell tower has been ringing at random hours for years. She meets Walt Gunderson, an old man who keeps a vigil in a folding chair, waiting for something he calls 'the toll.' He tells her about the winter of 1974, when the bells rang for three straight nights before a train derailed and killed seventeen people. But Walt says the bells don't mourn the dead—they call them. He shows Luna a Polaroid he took last spring, a blur of upright shapes drifting across the cemetery. Then, at half past midnight, the bell rings again—and Walt stands up, pulls a stopwatch from his vest, and says, 'Hold still. They count us.'

  • The Bone Man of Garnett Road — Fexingo Horror
    2026/05/03
In the summer of 2005, just outside the town of Lamesa, Texas, I met a man who had been collecting things from the ditch along Garnett Road for thirty-seven years. Not trash. Not bottles. What he gathered was specific: femurs, ribs, and skulls of animals, bleached by the salt and sun. He showed me his barn that night, lined floor to ceiling with skeletons reassembled into shapes that should not exist. He told me they came to him in the dark, whispering where each bone belonged. When he offered to show me one that was still warm, I should have run.

  • The Man Who Measured the Ditch — Fexingo Horror
    2026/05/02
In the summer of 2017, I drove out to a dead-end road in northern Nevada called Crow Flats Road. There's a bridge there, a narrow two-lane concrete span over a dry arroyo. I went because my old high school friend Cass had sent me a text that just said 'You need to see this.' When I got there, she was standing on the gravel shoulder next to a man I'd never met. He was holding a tape measure. He'd been measuring the ditch under that bridge for seventy-three days. He told me his name was Paul and that he worked for a company called Stanton Topographic. The story he told me that afternoon is the one I'm going to tell you now. It's about a survey. About what he found in the bend of a dry wash. And about the thing that started calling back.
