Michael and Mary Davis explores the biblical principle that whatever is sown into our lives will produce fruit of the same kind. Using Jesus’ parables, particularly the Parable of the Growing Seed in Mark 4, they emphasize that the Kingdom of God grows by itself through the planting of God’s Word—without human power or intervention. Just as a farmer cannot force a seed to grow, believers must trust that God’s Word, when sown, will yield spiritual growth in its due season. The teaching also warns against planting seeds of the flesh, such as worldly distractions or negative influences, which lead to corruption and hinder spiritual maturity. Galatians 6:7-8 reinforces this truth: whatever one sows, they will reap—whether in the flesh or the Spirit. The hidden seeds in our hearts, whether good or bad, will inevitably become evident in our lives. Thus, believers must be intentional about sowing to the Spirit, meditating on God’s Word, and guarding their hearts against influences that produce undesirable fruit. In the Great Commission, there is a statement: “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations…” (Matthew 28:19 NAS) Discipleship is a command that is overlooked by many! There is a lot of focus on converting people, but not enough on actually discipling those converts. In this teaching series we will be discussing the biblical importance of discipleship and how the Bible tells us to do it. We will be looking at a key element in this topic: the parable of the sower.
