このコンテンツについて
Jeremy is joined this week by Dr Rae Anne Ho Fung, a veteran, former teacher, and psychologist who founded The Balanced Collective. They discuss her healing journey from childhood adversity and military service to navigating systemic failures in education, healthcare, and the military-industrial complex, and how those experiences shaped her trauma-informed approach to therapy. Their conversation touches on moral injury in healing spaces, obviously critiques late stage capitalism and inevitable burnout, and the culture of stoicism in both veterans and therapists. Jeremy and Rae Anne end with a reminder that everyone needs help sometimes and healing only happens in community.
To learn more about Dr Rae Anne and her work, head over to balancedcollective.co, or give them a follow on Instagram, or for true, old-school professionals, LinkedIn.
Some great orgs and non-profits to also check out and support are Healing Warrior Hearts, who run retreats and workshops for vets and their families, the Veterans Health Coalition who do a ton of advocacy and also have an up-to-date resource directory, the Milwaukee Urban Stables who provide equine assisted services, and the SE WI Veteran Suicide Prevention Task Force. Jeremy also recommends checking out the documentary Make Peace or Die and the work to support gold star families. Veterans can find more resources here, and the crisis line has specific support for vets by pressing “1” after dialing “988”.
As always, Jeremy has all his practice info at Wellness with Jer, and you can find him on Instagram and YouTube. To show your love for the show you can pick up some merch! We appreciate support from likes, follows, and shares as well! None of my online work would be possible without my media maven Kenny, so check out their work as well at kenlingdesign.com

Podcasts about therapy do not replace actual therapy, and listening to a podcast about therapy does not signify a therapeutic relationship.
If you or someone you know is in crisis please call or text the nationwide crisis line at 988, or text HELLO to 741741. The Trevor Project has a crisis line for LGBTQ+ young people that can be reached by texting 678678.
